I see no tomfoolery/poppycock/blasphemy at all. In fact, I suggest you have your eyes checked!

Just having some fun :P

Tennis, anyone can participate and request a name fusion. We aren't doing it because we think we are superior than everyone who doesn't have a rank. We're doing it for the fun of it. It's not just moderators who are participating.

If you do not want to participate, that's fine. But you cannot judge us like that and assume we meshed our names together because you think we think we're more superior.

Its all in the fun of it, with this name changing stuff. Truly I'm liking some of these new names :P

Tennis, I'd like to politely disagree with you.

While discussing this change, I never once thought "I'm a mod, which makes me cool and awesome. I'm funny. *gigglesnort*" My thought pattern more closely follows the following: "Hey, that's kind of funny. I wonder if I can find someone else to fuse with me." As it so happens, I found Donut Juice to fuse with.

Every month, the Mods and Legends decide to do something odd. Nothing to harm RuneVillage, but something quirky that brings a breath of fresh air to the Village. And all users are invited to participate, no matter what their rank, post count, join date, or gender is. It's just fun and games. Hell, I'm normally in the "out-group" for these things; I don't see their plans until everyone else does. I didn't know about this until I saw others do it, so I should be considered one of the "little" users you speak about.

I don't know what you mean by "little mods," but I'd love to hear about this. Please expound upon this detail.

Yep, your names have special colors too. Glad that all the people I should be bowing down to are doing it!

Once again, Staff members are in your group of "little" users.

I give a big fat eyeroll to everyone who has changed their names. To me it's just "tehehe we're mods and being witty *gigglesnort*." Whatever. I just see it as a bunch of attention-seekers who think they are in the online in-crowd. It just annoys me that it's always the little mods and whatnot who think they are all that because they and only they participate in some stupid themed month thing.

I would never do that. I have too much respect for everyone, little and big, and I don't consider myself to be superior to them.

Of course, the response will be is that I'm wrong, but it's clear that normal villagers, however long we've been here, will always be on the lowest pedestal here. That's why I visit several communities, where everyone is on an equal playing field. I feel like it balances this one out.

I give a big fat eyeroll to whiny complaining Fuzzy Bunny people who throw a fit every single month for no logical reason. There has never been a time where we have made a month and not let EVERYONE at the village participate. Anyone can! Always. It has nothing to do with superiority and its insulting to insinuate that. Once again this is proof that you can not do anything at RV without somehow upsetting people. If you are getting upset every month over this Tennis, I can suggest plenty of Mortuary and Funeral Home message boards where you will be free from any sort of fun or humor.

By the way Tennis, its quite ironic you are making this about superiority when you are clearly bringing a "holier than thou" attitude to this topic.

Well thank you for proving my point, "Idiot Juice."

I'd like to say that I am not amused by this comment, and I don't feel that I did that in any case...

And you even indicated that there is an RV in-crowd. Thanks! RV has always been big on cliques, ever since the beginning. I've always seen it as annoying, but it's never really bothered me that much, except a few times where I've had outbursts.

I only used the term that you started; I don't believe that there is an in-group in RuneVillage. I realize that there are some users who are good friends with other users, but these groups are not limited to strictly Mods. I know that there are several Mods who are great friends with the "little" users, and there are also Mods who don't have relations with any of the other Mods. I'll agree that there are cliques, but I wouldn't say that the Mods and Legends (or "the people I should be bowing down to") have a super-clique that decides all of RuneVillage's trends.

So you know, the attempts to create a public themed month was terribly unsuccessful. Too many users with too much input creates chaos. Any user is able to create their own themed month (Orange month could be an example) without permission of the super-clique. No one will get mad. I'd even encourage it; it promotes camaraderie. A sense of belonging. If most people choose to follow the laws of the super-clique, then so be it. No one can stop them, and no one is trying to.

My final comment is this: I fail to see how this action seems to be more attention seeking than Pink Month. In this, users have changed their names to a similar name. With the exception of one switch so far, it is quite easy to tell who is who. With Pink Month, however, entire posts turned pink. If you want to scream "Hey, look at my post! Look at me!" There's no better way to do it than a giant block of burning pink text. I don't believe in any way that this event will require hiker to step in, unlike Pink Month.

As I said, I politely disagree. I see your points and understand your opinion, but I don't feel the same way about it as you. You could blame it on the fact that I'm a "big" user or a "superior" user, but I know that I'm simply having fun and invite others to do the same.

I didnt recall you complaining before but

makes me think that you dont just have a problem with this month in particular. And I really dont see the distinction between changing your username or changing your sig to match a theme. If you want to argue that the whole themed month thing is wrong, I will disagree, but I can at least see where you are coming from. But I just dont see how this month is "worse" than the others.

Once again, the Legends Theme Months are available to be celebrated by EVERYONE. It was already attempted to try to let the entire village pick a month, and it really didnt work, its hard to organize with that many people. If you have a good idea for a month, tell someone who has access to the Legends forum.

For those who are against the months for whatever reason, there is nothing wrong with that, we certainly arent gonna force someone to participate. But for the love of god, why is it always necessary to rain on everyone elses parade? Just let everyone else have a bit of fun without feeling the need to bring people down.

Let's not have this snowball into some huge argument over something so trivial.

Tennis, I'm sorry you feel that way about the Legends' Themes. It's just meant to be a bit of fun that anyone's free to participate in, and the themes are decided in the Legends' Forum because that's where it originated from. We've tried having a site-wide decision for a month in the past, and it worked out horribly.

You're free to participate if you want, but nothing says you have to. But themed months have nothing to do about the ranked users flaunting whatever sense of superiority you think they have. It's just meant to be FUN - I know that's a complicated concept to grasp, doing something for the fun of it, but that's all there is to it.

Umm.. You're attacking the ranked users, telling us that we only participate in themed months for a sense of superiority. Of course we're going to be the ones responding. :-s

well tennis...you could always stop posting and just go about your merry life until next month when everyone changes their name back...you are literally wasting your time continuously posting novel length posts...

on topic though... this is pretty strange... i have no idea who comes up with these themes..
