Another point. Suprisingly a lot looks very similar to the old phpbb3 we ported actually... Just, uglier.

I won't add any more negative comments, because I believe that right now, we already have more than enough of them. ^_^;

Well, I don't really like it though, but it's probably because I haven't got used to it yet. :3

Change it back, please! I liked the old way. You wouldn't get a headache from reading for too long. :-s

Nothing about the forums needed to be changed, in my opinion.

I prefer the old version. =/

There's also no "register" option. It would be quite difficult getting new members this way.

OK, constructive critisism now:
  1. The header (where the logo and assorted links and that are) needs to be changed back
  2. Font's need fixing back to th old style
  3. Puke-coloured forum rukles box needs de-puking
  4. posting.php neds recolouring back to the old style. Keep certain things like the attachments colouring etc.
  5. profile fields by the side of your posts need centering
  6. Non-linking text (birthdays etc) needs recolouring, black hurts the eyes
  7. Sue the guys who made it, the who is online box is identical to the old bb3 theme, the forum and topic listings are virtually identical and so is the UCP.

End constuctive critism

The only thing i really thing is a serious improvement though is the quote boxes

Is code any better though?

It looks .. terrible.

In no particular order:
"Preview" "Submit" "save" and "cancel" are hardly buttons, there is no border.
Avatars should be centered
Online image should be centered.
The shiny mod buttons seem out of place for the chronicles theme, especially the "report post" button.
Names next to the post should be bolded.
Fields for "Subject:" and "File comment" have no border, making it seem there is no field at all.
Smileys should be placed under eachother, not next to eachother.
The "top links" (login, register, logoff, ucp, chat, home, etc..) should be back where they were: all at one place, to the right of the logo.
The "where runescapers escape" shouldn't be black, it's very hard to read like this.
The "forum rules" on top of the forum (for those who can see it, check "requests" for example) are in a yellow-orangish box, that seems horribly out of color. Why not just make it hot pink already :-s
font in the post should be back to what it was, imo. It looks to small for on a high resolution.
"New posts, No new posts, Forum locked" at the bottom of the index should be centered.
The star before the topic in the image on a forum list means that you have posted on that topic?
The "quick mod tools" and "search for" at the bottom of a topic are .. ugly. No borders, black small text in front of it.

That's about it.. for now.

I have to agree.

I don't like a SINGLE thing other than the quotes/spoil tags (the have less of that wood effect).

It's all.. ugly.

I don't mind the font though, but I prefer the old one.

Looking at it, it looks a lot better in IE6 than in FF :-s

IE6 FTW

EDIT:
Below is 6 screenshots, 3 from each browser, IE6 and FF. FF is above and IE is below. Tell me which one looks less nasty

yeah this looks hiddeous...

Buttons don't look right
the user navigation looks like a nuke hit it.
Smilies need to be organized
The text box in "Subject:" for posts needs to be more visible
the font should go back to like, times new roman or whatever it was
The "New Post - No New Posts - Locked Forum" thing on the bottom of the index needs to be centered
The text on the forum index should be changed back
Image - What is that star?
Theres a bit too much space on the edge (the stone texture and wood texture) of the forum index
The "Forum Rules" on some specific forums has a yellowish orange background.
Usernames on posts should be bigger font
Side profile needs to be centered
no chat link

I personally liked out ported design better. This doesn't look like an update at all, looks like a horrendous downgrade.

You're running IE5, and FF2, nubcake. The latest versions are IE6, and FF3.

I did wonder about this when I opened RV on my PSP earlier (it looked much the same, just slight bits and bobs).

I'm running FF3, and it doesn't look too bad, a few bits here and there, and the buttons needs a border, lol.

It's ie6 and ff2 actually nubcake. And the latest release of ie is ie7, nubcake

And anyway, if IE6 can show up the new chronicles thm better than a browser that was still not superceesed until less than 2 WEEKS AGO, something is horribly wrong.

Hmm... I hate this. I thought I made it clear I didn't want to make this public yet, but whatever...

But seeing we're now on 3.0.1, I'll try to solve all this, destroy my whole time schedule and get going...

Well, that was certainly a "did I type in the correct URL?" moment?

I personally prefer the former version, but there are positives about this. Namely the quote/code boxes and the ordering at the top is great, but it needs to be filled up a bit more.
