Update on Blackmage

I haven't been active in RV for a while for a few reasons. At first it was just because of school and the flu, but now some things have come up and my activity will be severely limited.

First the good things,

1) School is going great, but I need to keep my grades up for college, which will cut my activity.
2) I am proud to say that I am talking with a very nice girl of whom I've known for a few months now =D

Now the bad things,

A very close, I will go so far as to say intimate, friend of mine has had a rather disturbed past that I won't get into for her sake.

And because of this, she has started to indulge in drinks.

In other words, she's becoming an alcoholic

The saddest part is she's only 14 years old.

Now as my duty as a friend, I have to be there for her through this , and as much as I love you guys at RV, I love this girl more than you can imagine, and it would kill me to lose her. She's unstable at this point and me being with her could be the key to her recovery. She has friends that are helping her, but she and I have a very strong bond and I need to be there for her through all of this.

I do not know how long this will take. It could be a few weeks (that would be great), or it could be something that hurts her forever.

My point is, no matter how it goes, I won't be very active at RV for a while.

This is not a good-bye speech.

I will totally come back one of these days.

But until then, I have some things to work out, and the most critical right now is helping my friend out.

I love you all at RV, and I don't want yall to worry about me.

Friends like you are rare indeed, Blackmage. It is great that you are there for your friend when she really needs you.

Just remember, she is the only one who can really turn her life around. You can help her, but it ultimately is her decision to quit drinking or not so be sure you don't get too worn out and hurt in the process.

We look forward to you coming back to RV.

blackmage i definately see the fellow boyscout in you that stands out among anything and i'm glad that your doing your good turn. Remember though stop by the village and post occasionally and if you havn't already TELL SOMEONE what she's doing because like you should know through scouts keeping things secret will only hurt those who know later on.
