First off, I'm going on vacation for the week, but I'm going to probably be gone longer than that.

The reason for that is that I've seen my therapist a couple of times, and he basically came out and told me something I wouldn't have dreamed. I don't have emotion, figuratively speaking. I know when I'm supposed to be happy or sad, and my mind has a thin veil of emotion, but my body doesn't react emotionally. It's like I'm numb. It's because I've been bullied for, like, ten years. Subconsciously, I trained my body to ignore the emotions I got when I was bullied.

It's been a surreal couple of days since he told me that, and I've spent a lot of time thinking about my past, and I think he's right. I haven't been really happy in God knows how long. Or sad. Or angry. Sure, I get frustrated, or annoyed, but not angry.

So, yeah. I need some time to try and figure out a way to heal this. Not sure how long I'll be gone, but hopefully it'll be long enough.

Anyway, see ya.

Hm, I can't really say much more than Mack... Just take all the time you need, J. I'm no therapist, but I think that as long as you keep digging around in your past and trying to understand exactly how this came to be, you'll be able to overcome this problem.

We're here if you need us.

God that sucks J. ;(

Hope you can get this sorted out. This is certainly a good reason to take some time away from RV for a while. But as Jack said - if you need a group of supportive friends to help you out at some stage along the path to recovery...well we'll still be here. :)

So I am not alone.

I know what you feel, for me it is Like I am cold inside... Things don't affect me like they do others. I feel physical pain, but not mental. The only real emotion I feel is fury, which I unleash when I shouldn't.

I hope you can sort it out, if you do, perhaps you could share?

Enjoy your break, take as long as you need.

Happens to me too. I don't feel sad in certain situations, where I should. Afterwards I feel sad that I didn't feel sad and become all depressed :( . In fact sometimes I'm laughing when I shouldn't be... it is really horrible, because then people think I'm really evil :( . btw I've been bullied too in the past.

Take care J and good luck with sorting out your issue!

The validity of therapy is highly questionable to be honest it sounds like you've got some psychodynamic nut job talking to you jass, try a different therapist.

Faz, he's right. Besides, I made sure that I wasn't talking to a nut job.

Hey there J.

I have the same problem as you; I myself am emotionally numb for similar reasons. For over eight years of my life I was tormented with words, but eventually I just learned to ignore everything.

I hope things get sorted out for you, I know that things like this can be rough.

Good luck.

I'm sorry I don't have anything useful to add. I only hope that things are alright and get better for you, J. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm glad you've made progress, J. I can't identify with that emotionless feeling you mention, but I most definitely know what it's like when something like that hits you like a brick and everything becomes surreal for a few days to even a week or more. Take all the time you need, (but be sure to come back!)

J, I don't really know what to say on this. But take the time that you need to think things over. And be sure to come back fresh and happy. If you ever need someone to talk to, we're here for you.

It'll get better eventually, J, hang in there.

I wish I could offer you advice also, but your therapist should do better than any of us.

Best wishes.

Hope you sort things out and return to RV soon. But as always, your real life is much more important, so don't worry we'll await your return :)

Let us know how you get on.

-Matt
