I've had two small issues with the forums lately.

    1. In FireFox, I'm no longer receiving the pop-up window upon new PMs, but I will in the other browsers such as Opera and IE. Any idea why this is?

    2. From time to time, when I click a link, the whole page will come up in what appears to be Lo-Fi mode. My solution to this is removing the 'www.' from the URL bar, but that's slightly tedious if it happens frequently. This problem also fails to occur on browsers other than FireFox.

If you're going to say that it's a problem with the FasterFox Add-on, I've disabled FasterFox and am still encountering both problems.

Any ideas?

I don't use firefox. And I have pop up pms turned off anyway. But on your second problem. Is it where the background goes all white?

Try allowing popups from runevillage.com. I had the same problem, and everytime I got a pm it would say something like "a popup has been blocked" and i would just right click and allow popups from runevillage.com.

hope that helps, at least more than Tom's uselessness

Thanks Jack, that solved the first problem.

But, unfortunately the second still remains. I'd like to continue using FireFox simply because I've became too attached to the Spell-Checker feature, which Opera lacks.

If it helps, this is an image of what the page looks like:

Could you PM me with the complite url for a certain page which looks like that, please? You say it happens on all post pages so any post page will do just fine.

Seems like the complete CSS page is missing for your browser :o

Ever tried a hard refresh? (Ctrl+F5) Could be that it had problems downloading the css file containing all style information and didn't reattempt to download it again... Usually it's caused by FasterFox, and disabling FasterFox may not always have reset all the settings it has altered. Try looking at your about:config page (just enter "about:config" in the URL bar) and enter "pipeline" as search word. If you see an amount of pipelining higher than 8, those settings are still causing problems.

I'll try refreshing the next time the problem occurs.

But with the about:config, it's at 4.

Have you tried clearing your internet cache, cookies and such? I've had those things make RuneVillage look/act weird before.

I'm not sure if the solution is this easy nor whether you have considered it, but it's worth mentioning:
At the user control panel, go to board preferences and global setting:
Pop up window on new private message: Yes [x] No [ ]

I usually get that white screen when a website has taken too long to load, or there's been a problem with loading it. Haven't had it for a while though :-s

He isn't getting the blank page, he keeps opening all the forum pages in lo-fi mode. Has nothing to do with site being transmitted too slowly.

Yikes, got it recently again, and F5'ing up to five times didn't help. :(

It's not that big of a deal. My current method to solving it works, I simply remove the 'www.' from the URL, it just becomes slightly tedious, and I was hoping for a permanent fix.

Yeah, as I asked before. I'm pretty certain the actual ULR itself has the lo-fi variable which needs to be removed manually. and by doing that it might just remember to not add it to every page.

The link you posted gives me the page you want in its entirety. Sometimes when I am downloading something that won't let me use a download manager I lag quite severely and get what looks like a lo-fi version.
