Time for a break...

This is going to be hard...

It's time to tell you all, I'm leaving.

I do a lot here, and it's become too much. I've been doing excessive amounts of work on the Whatis?, Monster and Inhabitants databases (3 databases is a great deal of work, as you can imagine); writing and helping to write guides and my beloved Zulu squad, of which I have been the lieutenant for quite a while now, assisting Henry with organization and other things. Anyway, it's been busy, and I don't like it; not anymore.

Anyway, I have exams again next month, and on top of my increasing busy social, sporting and love lives I feel that I don't want to be here as much any more.

I don't feel like I fit in here as much as I used to... it's just not right anymore. I'm bored of RuneScape so I've quit my membership after a few weeks or not using my account. Thus, I'm here only to work... and it's not much fun.

So, I'm leaving for a few months. I guess I'll drop in once in a while, but I doubt I will be missed that much.

To those who I'm associated with:
The RVA & Zulu Squad - You're a great group of people, every single one of you (even simon

), and it has been an absolute pleasure to be in a squad with you. Hopefully I will stay as an 'initiate LT' - sounds pretty dodgy, but it means someone can take my place in the squad and I can still help with the running of the shop...

The database team - although activity has been dwindling lately, it was great fun to work with you all whilst we were active. I do think that there is too much work put on you all. There is a very small number of you (too small I would say) with not enough praise for all the hard work you put in. You're an amazing bunch of hard working people, I just hope it doesn't go to pot whilst I'm away

Still, I wish you all the best while I'm away!

Seriously, there is a huge number of you on RS and RV.
Basically, thanks for making my time fun. I hope most of you'll still be around when I get back. I love you all, some of you are really special to me, and you know who you are.

I'll drop in to enter a few SoTWs and to browse the graphics forum. (Art exams put you in that kind of mood.... Valentines day should be a good one, I have some ideas for then, I'll just see if I can make them work)
Oh, and Zulu have an Alpha squad to kick. I wouldn't miss that!

Oh, and drop me a PM if you need any help or support about anything, I'll try to check back every few weeks...

Sorry to see you got mate. For the short time I have been at the village, you have become one of my good friends here and you're one of the villagers that I most respect. The work you have done for the database teams and RVA has been phonomenal. Thanks.

Also, don't be silly. Of course you will be missed!

Hope to see you fully return in a few weeks halley. We're missing you already.

You can't leave Halley, who else will I talk to thats a guy and not obsessed with just one thing?

Jimmy? Simons? Alex? They're fun but at least i can have a decent conversation with you.

Your fun to talk to and a really cool person. You make up one of the strongest members of the DB teams and who else can i pass my info on to and talk back at that will get it done as quickly.

If you must go I wont stop you hun, just know that we're (and I'm) here for you when you get back.

I might even try and figure out how to invent an MSN to talk to you

Taking a break once in awhile is a wise choice. It helps not kill the game and even things associated with it. Such as RV. Otherwise, you might get "burned out."

Halley, it hurts to see you go.

You've done a lot around here, especially for Zulu and the Databases. I've watched you come into power around here, and you shall be missed. Take some time, enjoy real life, and do well on your exams. We'll be waiting for you to return.

Wow, I saw this coming, but I hoped it wouldn't happen.

I don't wish to repeat what's already been said, but my only advice would be when you return, which I very greatly hope you do, find a balance between fun and work. I like to think I do a fair bit of work around here as well, but if you balance it out with something you find fun on RuneVillage, you'll never burn yourself out.

Best wishes with the exams, Halley. You'll do spectacular.

Halley.

I never really had the chance to get to know you or even talk to you in any depth, much as I wanted to.

You seemed to me to be one of the people here (in the minority) who had clear, strong opinions, and could articulate their thoughts in a consistent, well thought out, proper manner. I appreciated that about you. I'm sad that you won't be around for a while.

I do agree with you though; if I were in that position, I could only do what you have. As a matter of fact, I have been there, and have done that.

I understand and empathize (know the difference between that and sympathize) with you on your feelings of "being out," not being appreciated, or even missed. Went through all that myself. Still do. Don't really know a single person here. It must be worse for you though, being as heavily involved as you are in the more 'Behind-the-scenes' aspect of The Village. So I offer apologies on behalf of any and all who didn't get to know you, or knew you, and didn't show any heart in the knowledge.

Best of luck in your paths in life over the next while. Hope to see you back, and soon.
