I've been playing some Pest Control lately as well now

I can't imagine why I didn't do this before I do notice however that you seem to be playing on the low graphics setting... Perhaps it would be nicer to put high graphics images online...

[align=center]Pest Control [/align]
Pest Control is played on a remote island. It is home to the Void Knights, which are a group of warriors who worship Guthix. In this minigame you will have to help the Void Knight fend off the Evil Monsters. To win this minigame you will have to destory all four of the portals which have 250 health, while being attacked by tons of monsters ranging from levels 21-157. But there is a catch. You must also protect the Void Knight in the middle of the map from being killed. You can view his HP all game along with the portals HP.

The requirement for this minigame is 40 combat. To use the points rewarded everytime you win, you must have at least level 25 in the skill. Other than that, you are good to go.

Some people may ask, "What happens when I die in this minigame?" Well, the answer is simple. You will just spawn back at the ship you took to get to the island with the monsters and portals. You won't lose any items.

Ok. Now for the good part of the guide. Here is where you learn how to play.

First thing is first. Here is a map of both islands.


The upper island is where you land once you take the boat from Port Sarim. As you notice there are a few shops such as arechery, general, runes, smithing, and a bank. Well, after making your way to the boat at the southern most part of the island, you will be sailed across the ocean to another island to help the Void Knight defeat the portals and monsters.

While waiting for the amount of players in the ship to leave or the time to go, you can see the status of the boat and how many points you have collected.


Ok. Now that you're on the island, you will start off here on the boat.


Here is the part where you can either choose to defend the void knight or attack the portals. If you choose to defend, you will be attack all the monsters that attack the Void Knight. If you choose to attack the portals, you must attack the portals that are still alive.


This is the Void Knight who you will be defending while the other players destory the portals.
When defending the Void Knight, keep in mind to watch out for attacks from a range. The torchers can hit pretty hard so make sure to take them out. The Void knight only has 200 hp and he dies pretty quickly when there are 8+ monsters attacking, so make sure to kill them. Also, when a portal is destoryed, the Void Knight gets Healed 60 points. To lose this minigame, the Void Knight must die.


These icons are located on the top left of the screen. If you would like to check the Void knight's health, look at the Void Knight sign and look to the right.

Portals And Their Health

In the top right corner of the screen while playing pest control, you can see the portals' health. If your Icons look like the ones above that means the portals are still alive. If they look like the ones below, that means they are destoryed.


Portal locations
Purple - Western part of the map.
White - Eastern part of the map.
Yellow - Southwestern part of the map.
Pink - Southeastern part of the map.


This is what the portal looks like. You must destory the portal so it looks like the picture below.


When killing the portals, make sure you kill the Spinners because they have the ability to heal the portals. You won't have to worry about any other monster besides the Spinners. Portals are pretty strong, but they can die quickly from a large group. Portals can take special damage like a normal creature.

While killing the portals, you must also accumulate 50 points of damage to get a Void Knight commandation point. If you do not accumulate 50 points of damage you will not receive any points at all.


If you would like to see how much damage you have done look, at the icon with the sword and look to the right of it. These icons are located on the top left part of the screen.


When unsure of if you had enough points, you will always recieve a message after the games. If you receive the message above, that means you have gotten enough points. If you got the one below, you unfortunately did not.


When you would like to use the points you have collected, go to the Void Knight and exchange the points for armor, herbs, farming, or combat expereince.
