A mafia JoaT who can muck up the election in a host of ways and essentially a role cop versus a doctor, tracker, and one shot day flavor vigilante. That's.....pretty bad. Oh well. It isn't like we didn't have a chance to win the game. It was won when jaron weaseled out of a lynch. I think another thing that wasn't considered was having to go through electing someone and then hoping they do the will of the town is a major burden on the town. Couple that with WAY overpowered mafia roles and you get a mafia flawless victory.

Anyways I had fun for the most part. I'm eager to hear from tau. I hope he plays in the future.

I really hecked up with both the Antichrist and Radical roles, the only explanation for why I thought they were okay was being distracted by real life while I was developing the game... It was really bad though.

I did feel that the Rig ability was too strong, but a lynch-Janitor and a Nullified vote were decently powered for a game of this flavor.

Everyone should have immediately questioned why there were two investigative roles. Top would NEVER put more than one in a small game (unless it was a Dethy variant).

I rather enjoyed the flavor and mechanics of election, despite the balancing issues.

And yes Lander, you were right in the end. It was just too late No-lynching was the correct choice because the Rigging would have gone to waste and then maybe Jaron gets lynched.

I think this variant has major potential if properly balanced. The extra layer of analysis required is a lot of fun.

I was waiting on confirmation from Tops about a question. I asked him about what would happen if I lynched immediately and then Sparky got online and shot me before Twilight was over. I was no-lynching in case Sparky could kill me while I lynched him, that way I could just kill him at Night.

Top didn't really answer directly, so I just assumed that timing would take precedence and decided to go for it.

Well, that was an unexpected series of twists in D3. Congratulations Paidea and Jaron. Good try Komoe, you played as best you could. I hope my frenetic play didn't annoy anyone too much. It was an enjoyable game, even if the ending was a little unsatisfying. I'm somewhat glad that Lander and Sparky were town, because it's less frustrating to have died from confusion than a clever scum plot.


Agreed—that was the lynchpin (ha!) of the game. I called him out, but then derailed by tripling down on my incorrect hunch about you.

@spiro, saten plays the "I'm mafia and also telling the town how to win" role like every game now. It's anoying but also he's been more town like that then not, which is why I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

@komo, your fear in getting a president kinda layed on me being mafia, and since I knew I wasnt, and everyone thought you were a townie, I had no fear electing you. Impossible to know there was a ballot stuffer though, and it was hard to know if Paidea stuffed it, or if a mafia dude stuffed it in paideas favor in the hopes I'd shoot him.

@top, sucks to lose because you're at work (where phones aren't really allowed) I only had time to play during lunch, and got killed before work ended

I do like the election type of game, if you try it again just nerf the Illuminati a bit.

1) ON GUNS:
Oh, that's a fair point. I just assumed Sparky's ability would be allowed be pre-emptive, like "if X gets elected, shoot him". My bad. In fact, all these roles that only had abilities between the election and the lynch felt pretty dang unfair to me. Had Sparky been awake, would he have killed Paidea?

2) ON BETRAYAL:
This. I've done this, like, the last four games, and this is the FIRST time I've been Mafia. I don't blame Sparky one bit. Really sorry I ended up betraying you actually, bro. Besides, had Spiro gotten elected or if it looked like Sparky was going to consider killing me, I was going to obscure the results so no one knew they had killed a Mafia.

3) ON BALANCING:
Holy guys was I overpowered. It did not matter if you abstained or not on D3. Paidea shapeshifted into Komoe N2 and learned Komoe was the Doctor. Since Doctor can't self-protect, Komoe was dead N3 no matter what. 5 players left, I would have Nulled someone's vote. Paidea and I would have just not voted, and there would have been no majority. With Rig and Null active and 6 players left, it was literally impossible for us to lose barring something unforeseen like Sparky shooting Paidea or Top creating a doublevote role. Actually, because of that, it would have been safer for the Mafia to abstain.

4) ON FRIENDS:
Komoe you played really really well!

5) ON MAFIA FRIENDS:
Props to Paidea, he played well too. He was really easy to play with, basically I was all "I want to kill Jackstick tonight; here's why" N1 and "I want to kill Spiro tonight for maximum suspicion lololol" N2 and he was all "sure go for it" both times.
