Yep, there's been some good luck and achievements. Knocked a few big goals out in quick succession which was nice!
Change of Pace I haven't been feeling it lately but there's some updates to be had and new goals to be added. I updated the front page for the first time in months too which is probably more amazing than anything here
Misc level-ups A variety of skills here, haven't had the focus to stay on one.
92 Strength - 21/8/2015
78 Farming - 21/8/2015
82 Slayer - 22/8/2015
76 Herblore - 23/8/2015
81 Hunter - 25/8/2015
1950 Total - 25/8/2015
~~~
Goals With most of the previous goals completed, a revamp is needed.
90 Thieving Blackjacking, purely for total level.
85 Hunter Red chins, I can't stand Hunter but I want to get my Ranged up too.
88 Crafting Because 88 looks cool and I feel like it.
87 Slayer So I can get Kraken tasks and get myself a trident. I have a Jad task atm so trying to do Hunter first for a few extra Ranged levels.
Filthy Casual Kind of transitioning back into Gw2 so progress is slow. Thankfully, skills like Thieving are ridiculous exp/hour when you're concentrating.
Misc Level Ups Knocked over making all the cosmics I need for the Crafting goal. Leveling crafting is quite annoying on Ironman; you have to buy the sand/soda ash from shops, turn them into molten glass, turn them into orbs, runecraft cosmics, charge the orbs, buy the battlestaves, craft the battlestaves, sell/alch the battlestaves, and repeat. I think 88 might be as high as it goes...
86 Crafting - 26/8/2015
66 Runecrafting - 27/8/2015
67 Runecrafting - 28/8/2015
Thieving goal complete Yay.
86 - 89 Thieving
Hidden:
86 Thieving - 28/8/2015
87 Thieving - 29/8/2015
88 Thieving - 30/8/2015
89 Thieving - 1/9/2015
90 Thieving - 4/9/2015
Crafting Progress I need to make 4k Air Battlestaves for 88. I've just finished charging the last of the orbs, so I have 4k air orbs and roughly 200/4k battlestaves. I can buy 60 a day thanks to the Varrock Hard diary, so I'm thinking I'll finish my Hunter goal, then my Slayer goal, then buy however many more battlestaves I still need after that to finish the Crafting.
I loathe Hunter so let's see how long I procrastinate getting this out of the way
Kind of Done Decided to an update to cover various levels from a couple of weeks ago. I'm kind of done with RS for now so I figure I'll wrap things up for when I start back up again. I'm pretty much playing GW2 primarily which I'm finding much more enjoyable. It's frustrating though, because I'm close to finishing a bunch of goals and close to some of my 'major' goals for my Ironman but oh well.
Different format since the levels have been all over the place..
Hunter Got close to finishing this goal...
82 Hunter - 9/9/2015 83 Hunter - 10/9/2015 ty for missing pic Osbuddy
84 Hunter - 10/9/2015 I was on a roll! Not sure what happened. Oh yeah, it was just before the weekend; and I don't do Hunter in the wildy on weekends. Interrupted the flow. 87 Crafting - 10/9/2015
11/9/2015 Levels
93 Fletching
81 Ranged
77 Herblore
80 Farming
12/9/2015 Levels
91 HP
82 Ranged
83 Ranged
16/9/2015 Levels
83 Slayer
73 Prayer
82 Agility & 1975 Total - 19/9/2015
So that's the notable levels since the last update. I also killed Jad a few more times on Slayer tasks. I've got that down.
I gotta be honest, I'm kind of bummed out about the timing of everything. Once I started getting back into GW2, my plan was to go for 99 Thieving & 2000 Total before October 13th (1 year anniversary of Ironman) so I could go out with a bang and retire the Ironman for the time being. I ended up enjoying GW2 too much though and haven't been interested in RS. Everything needed to be shifted a month back for it to work out how I wanted it to
Anyway, I'm still subbed for now, I'll still be finishing 88 Crafting off and probably 94 Magic. I might do some Agility too in between Gw2 sessions, lol.
Game Over (For now) Time to wrap things up. I've cancelled my membership and can't see me renewing in the foreseeable future. Here's what I did since the last update.
78 Herb - 5/10/2015
79 Herb - 5/10/2015
68 RCing - 6/10/2015
94 Fletching - 12/10/2015
88 Crafting - 16/10/2015 Was not going to let this goal go unfinished.
80 Herb - 18/10/2015 Quite happy with this one, really had to stretch out the supplies!
81 Farm - 21/10/2015
It's been fun running a nostalgic F&R/G&A thread. Thanks to those who took an interest as well
Deadman Mode: Basically PvP everywhere with some changes to the death mechanic. If you die to a player you will lose the 28 most valuable stacks of items from your bank to a bank raid, all items that you have on your person and half of the experience you have gained in any unprotected skills. You can protect 5 skills in total: 2 combat skills and 3 non-combat skills. You can do this by opening the items lost on death interface from the equipment tab.
If you manage to kill a player in Deadman mode you will receive a key drop. This key will give you access to a chest that holds the 28 most valuable stacks of items from the bank of the player you killed.
You can protect up to 10 items by placing them in your safe deposit box. Items in your safe deposit box will not be lost to a player who kills you, unlike those found in your bank. Remember that you can only place 10 single items into your safe deposit box, not 10 stacks.
Deadman mode is a new intense, player-vs-player survival game mode for Old School RuneScape. Deadman Mode is the ultimate in risk vs reward PvP. All members can use their existing account to play on the Deadman servers and compete in the hiscores to see who can survive this unique way of playing Old school Runescape.
Deadman Mode is the same Old School that you know and love with just a few small changes that make all the difference to how you will play.
You can access Deadman mode by logging onto world 345, 357 or 360.
Open PvP
Player vs player combat is enabled everywhere! The only exceptions to this are inside Barbarian Assault and Tutorial Island, and camping in either of those places isn't going to do you much good. There isn't a single spot in Gielinor where PvP is not a possibility in Deadman mode.
Town Protection
Incredibly high level guards patrol every town across the map keeping them safe. If they spot a player with a PK skull they will take them down in no time.
The highlighted areas on the map to left are the safe areas (click to enlarge).
PK Skulls
PK skulls in Deadman mode mean something quite different to PK skulls in standard Old School RuneScape. While they do have an impact on what happens when you die, which is explained in detail just below in the 'Death' section of this page, PK skulls in Deadman mode have a couple of other significant effects, too.
Guards attack and kill players with PK skulls if they enter safe zones. Players who attack you when you are skulled will not be skulled themselves. This makes you a very tempting target. If you are in possession of any bank keys from killing players while skulled your skull will indicate how many keys you are holding. Again, making you a very tempting target.
Death
A death in Deadman mode is no joke. If you die to a player you will lose the 28 most valuable stacks of items from your bank to a bank raid, all items that you have on your person and half of the experience you have gained in any unprotected skills.
If you die to a monster when you have a PK skull you will lose the 28 most valuable stacks of items from your bank, all items that you have on your person and half of the experience you have gained in any unprotected skills.
If you die to a monster when you do not have a PK skull and have not taken damage from a player you will lose all of the items on your person except for the 3 most valuable. You will not lose experience or any items from your bank.
You can protect 5 skills in total: 2 combat skills and 3 non-combat skills. You can do this by opening the items lost on death interface from the equipment tab.
Bank Raiding
If you manage to kill a player in Deadman mode you will receive a key drop. This key will give you access to a chest that holds the 28 most valuable stacks of items from the bank of the player you killed.
Getting to this chest is no easy task, though. The chests are located in safe areas meaning you will not be able to use a key until your PK skull expires. If you choose to take your chances and go for a kill you will have a hard time staying alive for the 30 minutes your skull lasts for. Is it worth the risk?
Safe deposit box
You can protect up to 10 items by placing them in your safe deposit box. Your safe deposit box can be accessed by talking to Financial Wizards found in various banks across the map.
Items in your safe deposit box will not be lost to a player who kills you, unlike those found in your bank. Remember that you can only place 10 single items into your safe deposit box, not 10 stacks.
Accelerated Progression
The experience you gain in Deadman mode will be five times the amount you would normally gain in Old School RuneScape when training. Experience earned through quests will remain at the same rate but training using the standard methods will be much, much faster.
Mules
With such harsh death mechanics there will certainly be a few players who try to cheat the system with mule accounts. Mule accounts are accounts used solely to store items safely. We will be on the look out for any instances of this happening and will be removing the accounts from Deadman mode to prevent any unfair advantages being gained.
Minigames
Below is a list of the changes that we have made to minigames in Deadman mode.
Minigame New Mechanics
Duel Arena Disabled Barbarian Assault PvP disabled inside the minigame. The lobby is still dangerous. Castle Wars Disabled. Trouble Brewing Disabled. Fight Pits Disabled. Rat Pits Disabled. Pest Control Disabled.
Bloodmoney
Upon killing another player in Deadman mode you will receive an untradeable currency called Bloodmoney. You can use Bloodmoney on Nigel in the Lumbridge graveyard to get yourself a few pieces of his lovely Deadman outfit.
The outfit is lost on death but can be retrieved from Nigel if you lose it.
DarkScape: DarkScape is a game about cutthroat trade and transport of resources. Its three regions have their own, separate Grand Exchanges and banks, so the name of the game is braving the most dangerous areas to get the best loot and getting it back safely to sell it on. Only items are lost on death – not progress – so death is a secondary concern to stashing your loot.
What are the key differences between DarkScape and RuneScape?
Open-world PvP:
Wilderness-Rules PvP applies everywhere in DarkScape. You can be attacked at any time, in any part of the world. The level difference at which you can be attacked increases rapidly as you travel away from major settlements, and deactivates entirely in the most dangerous areas. Major cities are patrolled by powerful NPC guards, who will attack anyone who’s skulled…but nowhere is truly safe.
Three economies:
Everywhere in the world falls into one of three regions, denoting low, medium and high risk. Each of the three regions has its own, separate Grand Exchange and Bank – with greatly limited space. The higher the risk of the region, the more valuable resources and lucrative content you’ll find there.
Travel is difficult and dangerous:
Teleportation of any kind between regions is not possible while carrying items. All teleports take time to cast, and home teleports can be interrupted by combat. World hopping takes time and can be interrupted, much in the same way as teleportation.
A level field:
Everyone starts from level 1, and progress in RuneScape does not affect DarkScape. Combat is locked to Legacy Mode. Gear above level 75 requirement gives greatly reduced stat returns, compared to RuneScape. All content can be accessed by free players – even that which is members-only in RuneScape. Being a RuneScape member gives +50% XP, double bank space and an extra item kept on death. The members’ benefits are handy, and make progression a good deal quicker, but it’s entirely possible to play for free and remain competitive.
14 years of content…and a new horizon:
DarkScape contains most of RuneScape’s content, up the end of May 2015. Earlier pieces of unavailable content are Dungeoneering, Clan Citadels and the Lending System. Content is now branched – DarkScape will not be updated with future RuneScape content, and it will have its own content updates in the future.
