They said a couple years ago it would use Kingdom Hearts style gameplay.

If it's not going to use Final Fantasy style gameplay, why are they calling in Final Fantasy. It probably doesn't even slow you to summon again, just the Shiva is the name of the thing you ride all day long. (Oh no i didn't)

Final Fantasy isn't just about the gameplay, it's also about the type of story, and vaguely-connected mythology and universe(s).

The "Tactics" series and the MMOs (and probably also the Dissidia series?) also branch away from traditional FF gameplay, but they're still Final Fantasy.

FF12 and FF13 didn't have "Final Fantasy gameplay" as some describe it, but I consider them two of the best in the series. FFV looks awesome; I can't wait to play it.

But yes FFXV looks awesome too.

Was originally supposed to be a spin off of FFXIII. Hence it used to be called FFXIII Versus. They just decided after a while to toss the XIII connections and make it it's own game after a while.

I hope the new super smash will give you more stats about each fight. The wii kinda dropped off in that department, compared to the cube.

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

You'll find out that an xbox can only be registered to one email account, ever, and you have to log into that account to auth an ip address to use live or something. Reseting the console doesn't help, as it has an ID, and downloads where it was registered to as soon as you go online, which we all know, it has to do once a day, or implodes

Just my theory.

I just realised that this probably means that jailbreaking xbox consoles will go from pointless side hobby to a solid part of modern gaming culture...

Wasn't really planning on getting a console generation, but Microsoft convinced me otherwise. To get a PS4 that is. Might also have to get a Vita for that sexy remote play.

Also lol @ FIFA 14 being on PS2.

So micro$oft just reversed their decision for all the DRM planned for the xbone, so now it's practically going to be just like a 360 again except you have to do a one-time online setup the first time you start your console. The only real bugbear left is the list of countries for initial release which excludes half the European Union and other places like Poland (the country where Witcher 3 was made, one of the xbone's flagship titles) and Singapore (REALLY?!).

So basically the internet won. That doesn't mean anyone trusts micro$oft anymore and that the xbone's sales numbers will be anywhere near large enough to win the console war though.

That article is so awesome. It's like "OHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT" and they pulled a total 180 after all of the backlash, which included millions of enraged fans and hundreds of enraged media outlets.

Like freeasacar said, I doubt this will repair their image in any serious way, and they have already tried to take this step once, why wouldn't they be moving towards it anyways? I can certainly appreciate their total withdrawal of all their nonsensical requirements and DRM measures, but I wonder if it's too little too late. Damage done. They're still money grubbing Fuzzy Bunny, they just came to a smart realization that what they lose in patronage for stupid policies is a lot more than they stand to gain from said stupid policies.

It still doesn't make any sense that it needs to be online to set it up. This doesn't solve the problem of people who have no access to internet at all, or no regular access. Hopefully Gamestop or whoever else will implement measures to help these people, if these people are able to purchase xbones.

The last paragraph of the article is the most poignant: most people can and will use all the features of the xbone, they just want the option of playing/staying offline and certainly the freedom of game trading/lending/selling/buying used.

Still doesn't offset the creepiness of the kinect being required and always on. :?:

Good on Microsoft anyway. They'll still be totally crushed by Sony, if only a little less so.
