To whom are you referring, as far as I'm aware no-one has been mistreated when joining in our games?

I am with Blue on this one. I am done for now. There are a few people who have an attitude that just doesn't mesh with me. It is not an issue of being mistreated but just unenjoyable.

Henry- my hunch was based on you being overly nice. It was so counter it had to be either a power role or mafia.

Thanks for having me for these last two games.

Hey frisky, sorry to see you go.
Same to you blue.

On behalf of the village, sorry for the name calling, and the general B.S. that went on.

I will probably be back in a bit but I also need to focus on my thesis and also do not want to commit to a game and be overly inactive.

I certainly apologize if any of this was my fault.

I definitely get too wrapped up in the game sometimes. I never mean to offend or make the game unenjoyable. I would hope if I were doing that, someone would let me know.

My game's open for business if you guys change your minds. ;)

All right then, your Brian Urlacher thing would be an example of that. I can take criticism, but I don't appreciate being straight-up laughed at. The fact that it was even carried into your sign-up topic by Aragorn and Henry doesn't help either. This sort of post-game bullying is part of what makes people apprehensive in jumping into the next game, or even playing at all. I even thought about taking a break from Mafia like bluecoat and Frisky have decided to do, but I enjoy these games too much to walk away from it all just yet.

@Frisky and bluecoat: Hope to see you guys return in the future. I hope we can work towards toning down the "asshat-ery", but at the same time that's something to be expected out of a game like this, to some degree. It's a game of mistrust, interrogation, and deceit. At the very least, check out our RVET Chatroom Mafia games this Sunday. Chat Mafia is way milder than forum Mafia.

Are you serious Jack?

How the hell that is construed as bullying is beyond me, and I've come across bullying a fair amount in my life. All it was, was an in-joke from the previous game, did you see my comment as an attempt to bully you? If you did I sincerely and profusely apologise.

Sorry, "bullying" is the wrong word. It carried on further than it needed to, is what I mean.

At the time of my death, I thought "Lander is either mafia, or his brain fell out". But, to his credit, after my death he woke up, put his brain back in, and was the village's best asset for the remainder of the game.

The village was rather caught up in role semantics. I knew how all the roles worked, but there was a lot of debate because others didn't. A suggestion, in any future open concept games like this, sample role PMs for all the possible roles should be included in the starting post, to ensure everyone understands how roles like the Watcher etc. work.

Well played mafia. Fun game.

I'm sorry, Jack. Really. I didn't mean to offend you.

Pretty much sums up my sentiment.

I play the game a certain way, and I do it (generally) to generate information. I won't apologize for the way I play, nor will I change the way I play. But, if my play upsets too many people, I can easily take a leave of the game for the sake of the site, and the sake of future activity. We're all adults here, and yes, sometimes things go too far. Sometimes I go too far. But this isn't the schoolyard. We can all move onwards and upwards. I hope.

Like I said. If I'm being an ass, I expect to be told because it is not always readily apparent to me. As such, I will tell others when I think they are crossing the line, I have had discussions like this with Dr Henry and Kikori in the past, to name a few. We're all friends, or we should be, it isn't hard to tell someone to stop being an Fuzzy Bunny. And we cannot rectify a problem if no one is willing to state what the specifics of the problem is/are.

Keep in mind I wasn't even going to take part in this game, but stepped in as a replacement for the betterment of the game.

Ah, well you're right on that front, it wasn't necessary to carry it over to Lander's signup. I would like to state that everything I say within the game of mafia and during signups is meant in jest and should not be regarded as malicious in intent.

Also, are we going to do awards? I've got rudimentary stats noted down too.

I don't see why not. As mafia, you saw the contribution from both sides, so can easily pick star players knowing which mafia was playing the best, which town did the best, etc.

I'm not sure what we agreed upon but I'd suggest the moderator (Paidea in this case) chooses a selection of players (4/5) and then everyone involved in the game has a vote of their choice to decide the overall MVP. How does that sound, paid?

How about everyone just vote who they think was the MVP? For me, it would have to be Market Man.

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

I'm withholding my vote for a number of reasons.

A. I didn't play the whole game, and I did not look over the prior pages as closely as I should have.

B. I think there was some really strong play, and some really poor play. I don't think I could choose an MVP candidate.

I think I'll go with market, too. Very impressed that he got Blue lynched and survived as long as he did. In doing so made it possible for me to stay under the radar for a long time, until I screwed up the last day.

Market could have lasted longer if he hadn't tried claiming the wrong role with Top clearly knowing what his role should be able to do.

Yeah. I'm glad I was able to get people to take my word on how the roles work. I thought those roles were common knowledge but I guess they have been more rare in RV mafia than I thought. (it didn't really help that Paidea used a version of the Stalker role even I was unfamiliar with. I have always known the Stalker to learn the role of his target, not behaving like a tracker).

I think that next time a game where possible roles are known beforehand (as in this game since Paidea provided a list of possible roles he could include) sample PMs should be provided for all of those roles in the main post, even if they aren't ultimately in the game, just so everyone involved knows how they work. This would be especially helpful for new players.

---

MVP Nominations:
Town: Landerpurex (had the last two mafia pinned and ultimately only lost due to the lynch being gambled)
Mafia: Jackstick 8-[
