Sorry, Kiss. This game has taught me not to trust the quiet ohes. This is really out of sorts for you. I can only hope this doesn't seal the game for the mafia.

The town had seen a game full of tracking watchers, watching trackers, lies from townies, gambits from mafia, and experienced a roller coaster of emotions as each day rolled on, providing a new surprise. In their final days, it seemed wisest to establish the normally jocular Jackstick as their leader. As with all great decisions in history, Jackstick decided to flip a coin: heads, they would lynch the inactive Imasquid; tails, the inactive Kisshoten. He tossed it up...

" :bunny: , it fell down a sewer grate."

Aragorn Ix and Imasquid stood by laughing. Landerpurex facepalmed and shook his head, regretting giving Jackstick all the power. Kisshoten smiled nervously, seemingly unaware of everything that had happened the last 7 days.

"...close enough. Kisshoten, you die."

Kisshoten, Villager, has died a bloody death.

MAFIA (Market Man6, Dr Henry, Aragorn Ix, and Imasquid) WIN!

Notes/comments to come later.

We screwed up so many times during the last few days as mafia, I was sure we were going to lose.

Phantom put a massive spanner in the works (through no fault of her own) by leaving, because we were planning to get her lynched with Jack's support after night killing Lander.

Then I screwed up coordinating the bussing of Lander, which then made me the centre of suspicion. I was sure that had cost us the game but Jack somehow rescued defeat from the jaws of victory for us! :awesome:

Jack, you deserve the award for honorary mafia, so many of your decisions helped us win that game!

I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did!
Was hella-fun! To bad I didn't out argue and take down godders on my last day alive.

Also, aragorn, I'm so surprised you voted for lander so early

And I'm surprised that
A)doc opted to deliver the mafia night kill
B)chose top
C) and got watched by godders.
All in one night.

Comments:
First, well played to the Mafia. Market Man did a good job of avoiding a quick lynch which could have happened as early as Day 2. Bluecoat's gambit, while hard to understand, did have the potential to root out two mafia. In a way, he pretty much nailed Imasquid, but for some reason thought that Market Man was innocent. Godders choosing to come out much later in the game probably hurt the town more than it helped, although he did manage to absolve Jackstick of guilt for the last few days. I felt as though the game was very close and either team could feasibly win. Of course, inactivity got the better of the Town again and an unfortunate "coin flip" cost them the game.

Second, "Vanilla Mafia" does not mean all vanilla townies and vanilla goons. It has a very loose definition, which obviously was a point of contention in this game. I thought about making more clarifications, but overall I am pleased with how the game progressed.

In my opinion, vanilla mafia simply contains a handful of simple power roles (in this game, 1/3 of the players had power roles) and standard game mechanics. That is, town vs. mafia, majority to lynch, etc. I don't think any of the roles were confusing. It was interesting to see how the mafia played with words and caused a lot of uneasiness about the watcher and tracker.

Finally, the decision to modkill Phantomrose was made with the following in mind:
1) There were no more power roles, so any of the mafia's kills would result in a vanilla townie dead.
2) If Phantomrose were left alive, it would result in an auto-win for the mafia, because the village could not force a lynch.

The mafia's kill was not changed. They never had a chance to submit one that night.

Notes:
-The watcher may target any person (including theirself) each night. At the end of the night, they are told who visited their target.

-The tracker may target any person each night. At the end of the night, they are told who their target visited. The tracker can "follow" a person to the tracker's house.

-A stalker works the same as a tracker, but is mafia-sided. In some games, a stalker learns the actual role of the person they targeted -- this was not the case in this game.

-The janitor may target a kill one per game. If they decide to clean up the kill, they are the only player who learns the identity of the dead player.

*Watchers do not "visit", because they are watching from their house. So if a tracker targets the watcher, they will see the watcher visiting no one.

**If the watcher targets the tracker, they will only learn who visited the tracker, not who the tracker targeted.

***During Night 1, Godders tracked Market Man and Market Man stalked bluecoat. Bluecoat watched himself.

Bluecoat learned that Market Man visited him. (He does not see Godders because Godders did not target bluecoat).
Market Man learned that bluecoat visited no one. (Watchers do not visit).
Godders learned that Market Man visited bluecoat.

And I don't have any of the other night actions saved on this computer. Sorry!

And Jack doesn't listen to me.

HE DOESN'T Fuzzy Bunny LISTEN.

I guess at this point I was just trying to get the game over with. I knew who was mafia, Fuzzy Bunny knew it, yet I couldn't and frankly didn't have the energy to convince Jack. How he could still consider Aragorn innocent after that vote he placed for me is way the hell beyond me.

This is Brian Urlacher laughing at Jackstick on my behalf, because I was right.

Though it was pretty well played by the Mafia. Market managed to get Bluecoat (the watcher) lynched, and Jack actually played really well until the end. I played rather shittily til the end, but then it was clear who was mafia.

My signups will be open shortly and the game will begin...well, more or less once people stop signing up.

Oh, and overall, it was an incredibly fair game, the best one we've had in some time. Very well hosted. Sucks that I came in after awhile, but I never, never am allowed to survive til the end so this one was great, even though we lost.

Ha! I thought the night had another day so I didn't check yesterday. Well darn. :) However my death was pretty funny in my opinion. I laughed when I read it.

I made a pretty foolish mistake, fair play to Godders for catching me out. I was trying to be too clever :D

Honestly, we could not have won this without Jackstick. He was fantastic, pushing for lynches on pretty much everyone other than mafia, distracting Lander and messing around enough that we had a fairly smooth run :P

Well played to my remaining mafia... Aragorn played a very stella game until that last day when he almost got caught - Lander even named both him and squid but thankfully we'd killed off anyone who might have agreed with him, seeing as Jack was making it a point to argue with every thing Lander said, brilliant!

Frisky - your 'hunch' about me being mafia screamed that you were a tracker and had followed me (as I PMed night kills first two nights, until I realised there could be a tracker) and I was sure we would have killed a power role and cleaned it and been able to use that to our advantage.

I new Aragorn and Imaquid were the last 2 Mafia members, because they were the only 2 voting for me the Day before i died.

I wasn't sure about you or Aragorn, and it would have required Imasquid or Kisshoten to vote too - two people that I cannot rely on. Someone had to die, it's that simple.

Lander, don't blame me for your giving up. You could have argued against my coin-flip proposal (and believe me I would have listened, because I was depending on you and Aragorn to go along with it, not Kisshoten or Imasquid. The three of us would have had to agree), but you didn't. You said you were fine lynching anyone except me or you.

Next time argue, til the very end, because that's when it's most important. I may have made the wrong decision, but at least I didn't give up.

You give me too much credit. :P And you're forgetting that I participated in the only two mafia kills. Godders and I lead you to the gallows. He provided the report, I provided the logic. People were overlooking the details needed to lynch you.

I think I played better than most other villagers in this game. Including you, Lander. It would have been a very different game if Godders, bluecoat, or Sighence had lived a little longer.

We lucked out with Sighence tbh, and Bluecoat played a very poor game.

Yeah, maybe.

Though I might have argued, the second you voted for Kisshoten our fate was sealed. I wasn't even able to get online before it went down.

I named them both as mafia, I'm not really sure what else I could have done. Both arguments were sound. And the way Aragorn protected Imasquid, and both our feelings that Kiss was town should have prevailed. But who's to say she would have even gotten online in time to seal the lynch? We needed all three townies. It was a dead end situation and a decision had to be made.

You can understand my frustration, I named the remaining mafia and we still lost. There was nothing else for me to do.

My hunch on Sig was based on his unusual quietness, I figured he was being more reserved than usual because he was watching the game develop to use his power role. But yeah, we got lucky getting him early on.

I played how I thought would be fun rather than how I thought would be safe. And I had fun with it. Which is important, because I had decided that this would be my last forum mafia game.

I'll be back when you guys aren't chasing away my friends with asshat-ery.
