Long time no see/speak.
How have you all been?
What've you been doing?

Myself, I'm alright. I spent a few months fairly depressed (Fuzzy Bunny lady dramas), and now I'm considering dropping out of university before my third year. I'm also not as angry as I once was (As a lot of you will remember), I put this down to starting a blog. It's a new way to express myself and talk about my feelings, but in a more grown up manner. If anyones interested in seeing the blog I shall post it.

Hi! :D

I hope you start feeling better. Why are you considering dropping out of university? You're already two years in, so you obviously don't have all that much longer to go. Keep in mind that it's a lot easier to finish school when you're younger than it is to go back later on in life.

I already am feeling better, Cheers Bart. It was only stuff I was being rather stupid about.
I'm considering dropping out because I honestly don't like the course anymore (Computer and video games). Doing the course has pretty much put me off gaming as a whole.
A lot of the stuff I have to do I don't really enjoy. The stuff that I do enjoy is video manipulation, which isn't really used in what I do unfortunately.

Writing a novel.

It's not as easy as it sounds.

It doesn't sound easy at all...

Simon, unless the next year of your life is going to spent doing something more productive for you career/wellbeing/learning wise, why not stick it out? You'll have to pay student loans regardless so it seems better to just grind out the last year and move on with your life?

I'm just finishing my final year at uni, and whilst I never wanted to drop out I have had moments of doubt about the course I've been doing because it's not going to get me a career easily. Weigh up the pro's and cons of leaving, it's not a decision you want to commit to without a lot of thinking through.

It's mainly the main project for next year which I'm dreading.
Our third year project at uni consists of making a game, our class is split into groups of 7 (Which we get to choose). I've not been picked for a group, and quite frankly I don't want to end up in a group of the 'specials' for the final project.

There's no way to change majors into something that you do enjoy at this point? It seems like you already know a bit about video editing, so changing courses may not be impossible. Is it really a binary option?

With me only having one year left, it is definitely too late unfortunately.

Hey simon. Sorry about the depression.
Nobody knows you as well as you do. So if you think you need some help, or you want to talk to someone about it, don't hesitate to seek it! Trust me, life gets better.
And if you treat your body good, you will feel good. Stretch every day, eat a few more fruits, try to get on a sleep schedule etc

As for school, I wouldn't advise dropping out.
An employer is MUCH more likely to hire someone with an education over someone without one. Even if the education is in a different field. An education shows you have motivation, gumption, ambition, smarts, you can overcome challenges.
Every employer is different from the next. So you will have to learn on the job for ever single job. If you can do that, then you will be fine where ever you end up after you are done school.

And keep up with the blog, I think its good for you.

Best wishes :)
