Remember when this forum was really active? We usually had 1 main game and 1 variant up at the same time, and sometimes we would even begin another variant (with sign-ups) towards the end of the current one.

Are we currently operating on an unspoken rule of only one game at a time? For people who die very early on, or even on day 4 or 5 in a game like Jack's, the wait to play the next game is quite long. What do you guys think about trying to "stack" games so that, for instance, the next person to host a variant opens the sign-ups around day 3/4 of the main game so that the variant actually starts around half-way through the main game?

Then day 3/4 of the variant have sign-ups for the next main game (but don't start until the first one is over), etc...

Just thinking along the lines of efficiency and speeding up the host rotation.

I like this idea, mainly because within the last 2 games i died first both times, so i literally playing 2 day times in 2 months or something.

I like Paidea's idea, but I'm concerned about activity, which is already often low. People may get burned out with multiple games going on.

May as well put me at the end of the list. I'm sure I'll have cooked something up by then. Probably will be a variant.

I don't think that could work anymore, unfortunately. Back then, mafia was still new and fresh, and the variant hosters (you and top) had innovative ideas. That isn't to say that you couldn't come up with something new, it is to say we're lucky to get between 15 and 20 people playing (and that's a generous figure). Do we really need *more* games, or should we not try to fix something that isn't currently broken?

I'm also concerned with activity. When all of the more vocal villagers die off, the game just degenerates into a snoozefest sometimes.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I sometimes had to go back and double check role pms to see which was which when participating in multiple games. I would like to get to a place where multiple games can be enjoyed, but I don't think that'll be anytime soon.

Forget activity. We did that on one occasion and people in my game started using "oh I'm getting your posts confused with the other game you're in" as excuses for making bad choices and that's all just bull because it means you suck as a player. Ever since then I never host a game if there's another one going on.

Besides, I think the only reason that ever happened was because there was already a game going on in LD when one was going on here? And THAT'S not applicable anymore.

I have a plan. I need everyone to speak their thoughts about it!
The plan:

If i'm going to host the game that I have in mind, I need 100% activity from EVERYONE. And I need as many players as possible.
Have a simple 2of4 type game but I want to make a bunch of new usernames and assign one new username to each player. (The names will not indicate alignment or any give aways.) With the new usernames to masquerade behind, it turns the game entirely into what you say, how you act and how you read other people. No more 'veteran player' reputations, and no 'rookie player' reputations.

Thoughts?
Would you guys like to play something like this?

I was planning to sit out the next one, but this is too good an idea not to try. Definitely worth a go.

I'd play that. I also agree with the butt-tons of players idea to generate activity.

Edit: Question. Last time I played, the mafia primarily communicated via facebook. Would the mafia be allowed to know identities?
