I feel that it would be foolish to solely try to kill the demon and leave the mafia to do what they want.

I don't see what makes the demon, or at least the process of finding him/her/them/it/whatever any different from finding other third party roles. It's a known fact most people play differently when they have a certain kind of role, and more often than not people have a habit of inadvertently outing themselves. So really by just scum hunting in general we are likely to come across the Demon(s).

How often do we actually have to actively seek out third party roles?
Your last sentence supports what I have been saying though. If we scum hunt, we could easily just come across the demon.

So we scum hunt, rather than demon hunt.

Penguin ninja - I'm not soft on the demon, I'm just harder on the Mafia in comparison.

Kikori ninja - your post screams Mafia on the offensive. kikori

You're SO scum.

SO SCUM.

I left out some specifics of the role PM for the exact above stated reason. Henry confirmed that he's town, in my eyes, by showing he received a town-aligned PM.

Your question of it only serves the purpose of showing that YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A TOWN ALIGNED PM.

And penguin, I was worried for a moment about using the specifics of the role pm within the game, but I don't think it's against the rules. I treat the role PM as part of the game. 'Outside information' is something like quoting what time someone was last on to prove they are lurking.

THANK YOU LANDER! So glad you picked up on that.

I checked the rules too, and Kik has done exactly what I did in that neighbours game... I was the one person with no neighbour so my pm missed one thing which everyone else had, I slipped up as a result and kik picked up on it

Penguin, use of role PM wording wasn't contested back when it got me lynched in the Scrubbing Bubbles game. I think the "Metagame" is rearing its head again.

Fuzzy Bunny it. Fuzzy Bunny role PM wordings screwing me over two games in a row where the villagers got some very creative specialized PM.

You win if: The Demon has control of 100% of the population. If the Demon is killed, then you win if the number of Mafia is equal to or greater than the number of Villagers

You lose if: The Demon and the Mafia are all dead.

SPECIAL: You have a magic mirror. It is a night-time ability that you may use only ONCE during the game. When you use it, ALL night activity is reversed. If person A acts on person B, and you use your mirror, then it will be reversed so that person B acts on person A, and this will apply to every action taken that night. It's a useful item, but be sure to consider how dangerous it may be to the Demon, the Mafia, and yourself.

Since we're being specific. NOW YOU KNOW. Don't bother worrying about speculation with this one, I came pre-converted and able to win with the Mafia as well. Was genuinely interested in killing Henry to avoid a "Demon-win", because I didn't know about the Villagers knowing about the 100% population bullshit. Here I thought I actually found the Demon and had him pinned so I wouldn't have to worry about it. LOL NOPE.

Good luck have fun Kikori got owned by words again. tumut

One: quoting your role pm out of rage isn't fair, ruining the game is not on.

Two: you failed twice as much as I'm not even the demon :D

I haven't posted the names of my allies. :?: I'm raging because twice in a row the villagers, given a special wording about their specific win conditions, have been able to use the wording to get their first successful Mafia lynch rather than logic. This isn't ruining the game, just costing the Demon one subordinate it couldn't even coordinate with due to me wanting to kill it. This isn't ruining the game. Just my inclusion in it.

And no Fuzzy Bunny. Look at it from my perspective: if you and only you had been given that 100% figure (aside from me, of course, coming pre-converted), it would add up perfectly that you are indeed the Demon, or strongly related to it. >_>

I mentioned the 100% thing a almost immediately after the night ended. In fact a little more than 24 hours ago. It is weird you are just now reacting to us knowing that. You could have played it off that I mentioned it... or something

You bumbling buffoon.

My point is moot as your PM also states that the demon has to control 100% of the population. Why question it?

I am disappoint.

Yeah it is. This isn't fair. It's abuse of a game mechanic that ruins the spirit, purpose, and enjoyment of the game.

Welp. My humblest apologies. I mean that sincerely.

But...does that even forbid roleclaiming? Now I'm very confused.

As I said, in the past, it hasn't been a problem, but I'm the one that started the PM using and the game is severely crippled. :(

Because I came pre-converted. I knew from the inside, from within the Cult, that the Demon needed 100% control. I was not aware if everyone else knew this. It was my thought at the start that I needed to avoid using "100% of the population" because it was "inside information". If everyone in the damn game knows the Demon needs 100% control, it's a simple matter to figure out about how long the game could run due to conversion targets being lynched or even the worst case of "Demon converts, Demon kills(?), Mafia kills" every night. This wasn't discussed. So I didn't think anyone else knew the stipulation.

... And now I'm with Lander, I feel like a dick for quoting the majority of my PM. Sorry. :\

The way I look at it, and how it has been in the past, is paraphrasing your PM is completely fine as long as you are not directly quoting it, as there is no proof that what you paraphrase is true or not.

Maybe we should hold off on posting in any direction till Jack can stipulate the proper interpretation of the rules.

I do not think role claiming is out, but I do see where Lander came from. He did not quote using the box deal but tried to offer his interpretation.

Damn gray areas

It used to mean that you couldn't screencap you role pm, I thought you could quote it. You could be lying about the quote also, kikori has done it in the past. (I believe)

BUt yeah, now we're mired in a Fuzzy Bunny situation. I don't really know what to say or do. :?:

As far as I know, the most... "creative" I've been with my role PM's wording is switching the name of the role around to match a Villager-type name when I claimed "Vindicator" in the Courthouse mafia. Anything aside from that I can't remember.

We lynch Kikori and move on. What happened is unfortunate but I don't feel like anything hugely game-breaking happened. We have some more information on how exactly the Demon works, sure, but this has more to do with Kikori choosing to play against his alignment than him quoting his PM.
