I have tried LoL. I find it rather boring. Lane setups are too static, spells are overall weak and spammable, having to unlock heroes and runes is the dumbest concept ever.

DOTA 2 is far more exciting, the game has far more depth (the increased role of supports, mechanics like denying and stacking/pulling), it's gorgeous visually, you have all the heroes right away putting you on equal ground, where the only barrier between you and other players is skill. Most of all, it's exciting. LoL was just flatout boring to me.

I played LoL for a few weeks before I got a DOTA 2 invite, never looked back.

Believe me, I've tried. A kill for a kill =/= killing her without dying in the process.

By the way, pro tip for anyone considering. Don't trust pubbers. They suck terribly when on your team and are amazing when on the other side. Every single time. [/bitterness]

You're better than this, Rory. We didn't have an inter-village war over WoW vs Runescape vs Guild Wars back when they were popular, I really don't see why being petty about League of Legends vs DotA 2 should start drawing (first) blood between us.

This right here is why you don't build Divine Rapiers when on the winning side of a game.

Luna built one, lost it to me. Treant Slardar built one, lost it to me later after Treant got it. Twice our team was in "gg we lose" mode when the Ancient came under attack.
NOT WHEN THEY HAND OVER RAPIERS TO GIVE ME 4K CRIT DAMAGE, WE DON'T. Best turnaround ever.
