I disagree. There being more players, and therefore more mafia, means that there almost HAS to be one person to collect all the votes and send in their decision. It would be chaos without the Godfather.

wrong.

what was said before was: "Uh...so, inactive mafia it looks like?"
a joke by jack with a retort from frank. nothing more on the topic of the lack of nightkill. so i added some other possibilities, in an attempt to get more people thinking about what happened, and for those people to be more vocal about them(once one person goes, others are likely to follow). with this discussion, we can get the rookies learning more about the game, as well as having more people talking about serious things. no more day1 jokes. we can now start to use peoples responses.
so thats 'why'

Quote:
There IS a chance that the doctor saved someone. But where's the injured player? Jaron may not include one, but that's where your ideas need to come in. Not one step earlier

alright. point taken. after a statement, i will try to add more description as to where that idea came from or was going.
but i would like to add, that as i was typing that morning, we were rapidly approaching the jobsite, and i needed to wrap it up. that is why that may seem short.

Quote:
There IS a chance that the killer was roleblocked. But if so, who? That's for the roleblocker to claim and say so

you are right. and on this note, i will say im not sure if its a good thing for the roleblocker(IF we have one) to come out or not. yes, there is a good chance they will be protected by the doctor if they came out. but once that doctor is dead, the roleblocker is doomed and we lose another power role.
if they stay quiet, they have a chance of coming out with the information later on when it could be a win or lose situation. but this route would leave us at risk of them being chosen for a nightkill later on, and them dieing before we could get that information.

Quote:
There IS a chance that the Mafia altogether didn't offer a kill

if they chose not to, the only reason i can think of would be for them to create confusion. which could result in them sneaking in on a train that earns them a lynch where none of them were noticed. it comes at the risk of giving the detective a free night, but it also gives them time to see how everybody will react to the confusion they created. and base their next nightkill on it. like: XXXXX seemed to be able to easily convince the people around him... and this could be bad for us later. lets get him.

henry, what would you like me to elaborate on?

As the sun began to set, the bickering also started to die down. Landerpurex sighed and addressed the crowd. "Guys, we're getting nowhere. If we stay divided like this, the Mafia are going to kill us all without any resistance." "Who died and made YOU boss?" Topsummoner retorted. "Sayaka," Lander deadpanned. "O-oh. Touché."

All twenty-one of them headed to their homes for the night. How many would be back the next morning...?

Night 2 has begun
Night 2 ends at 4:30 AM CST on Tuesday, October 9th

Twenty. The answer was twenty.

When eight o'clock had come around the next morning and Sighence hadn't shown up, many just assumed it to be a joke. He probably overslept. He probably stopped caring. Maybe he was just playing Borderlands 2. Sure, why not? It seemed likely.

But as the crowd moved closer to his house and saw the slightly-open door, a hush came over them all. From the looks of things, Sighence had indeed snuck in one last hour of Borderlands before bed, but in his distraction on the TV, someone had snuck into his home and pierced his heart with a sharp, black knife. The game system was still on, but Sighence himself showed no signs of life.

Sighence - Villager - Slain Night 2

So, as it turned out, the threat was indeed real. The Villagers quietly walked back to the town square, none too eager to start the new day.

Day 3 (ends at 11 PM CST on Thursday, October 11th)
20 players remain
11 votes to lynch

In truth, the way he allied himself with me and spoke even on my behalf was almost total nonsense and far out of his normal playstyle. I had his ticket but wanted him to dig a little deeper, perhaps bring some of his friends with him...I'm sure I'm next on the chopping block because we were such close buds, but really...if he flips mafia, this almost certainly confirms me as a townie as we wouldn't otherwise associate with eachother so closely. But that's really not here nor there.

Let him speak and say what, there's a framer? That he's a power role and that penguin is ousting him? To let him proclaim some other half baked idea to save himself? Nope. Not on my watch. Kikori

The ONLY thing that seems out of place is the lack of a kill on N1 with Kikori in the mafia. But this could either be explained by the presence of an inactive Godfather or what I mentioned earlier, that he purposefully pushed for no kill due to the nature of this game being for the newbies, etc.

Meh, won't make much difference to me tbh. I really see no reason for Penguin to make a false claim. We're way early in the game with only one death so far; there's no reason I can think of for Penguin to stick his head out like this if he's not legit.

Example: If Penguin is mafia and Kikori is some special role they found out about last night and feel threatened by, or want him dead for any other reason, they could just target him tonight rather than stick their head out during the day.

If Kikori is killed and found to be villager, we're only at two villager deaths (a third likely over the night, granted), but we then have a huge field of suspension to cast on Penguin.

Basically either Kikori or Penguin are mafia. Killing kikori is an easy way to find out which is which. ((Thinking outloud: I guess they could even both be mafia and agreed to sacrifice Kikori to give Penguin credibility in the later stages of the game, but again, we are way early in the game. I can't see a mafia sticking their head out this early the way that penguin has.))

I guess there's also the possibility of a framer like Lander mentioned but we're talking like a ~1/15 chance of kikori being framed last night. This still remains to be our most solid lead and one I feel is worth pursuing.

Again, I'll bring up this anecdote: In Monk's Scrubbing Bubbles themed game, Kikori, Scar and I were the mafia. We debated for so long about who to kill and who should send in the kill that we ended up missing our night one kill. I suspect something similar happened here.

It's actually quite the opposite, Lander. I tried to ally with you simply for the fact that I had no reason not to trust your words. Who remembers the kid who cried wolf? "I was framed" was an excuse I needed to pull in the Courtroom mafia to win.

Now this. The irony if it is... god, palpable.

I'm the real detective, bros. I glued to Lander because of one reason: Night One was spent investigating him.
"But wait", say the veterans, "any detective worth his worth will self-investigate night one!"
But wait. This is the first game, a global game, a game made to show the mechanics and draw the new players into the fun of Mafia. I took a probably true, educated guess that there's no such thing as an Insane detective, Quack doctor, or some such makes-it-useless variant of a role. Such a role reaching a new player would just be confusing and potentially frustrating.
So, yes. Night one was securing whether or not I could team up with Lander to rip this game a new one. Remember, after all, when we team as villagers to pull down the Mafia, bad stuff happens to 'em.

Landerpurex wrote:

I'd rather not pull a Monk and ragequit, and I'd rather not just throw my hands up and say "Screw it, I know they won't believe me."
Yes, Lander. On your watch. You're a villager, and I know that for a fact.

My investigation night two went to Animal. The worst enemies are those completely off the grid, after all, since you can't exactly read logic that isn't posted. To my shock, Villager. This, however, puts me in between a very big rock and hard place: I have nobody to vote for but Penguin, who I am sure will not be easily dealt with until I'm dead.

God dammit why couldn't Animal or Lander have been Mafia. ;-;

Triple ninja'd. Chris, I don't see a gain for him either, except maybe serving as a chance for some names to appear more Villager by making a quick believable bandwagon jump. I'm looking at Jack and Frank in specific for this.
That's an odd and highly unlikely "maybe", though. :\
Us both being Mafia is immediately taken away by the fact that a real Detective would still exist. The only reason that could be gotten away with is a Janitor, but without the mention of a spotless home, I'm not pushing for that one existing.

I'm trying to figure out if Kikori actually thinks we'll buy that story, or if he knows he's screwed and is making a desperate attempt at convincing newbies... Kilori

At least spell my name right. >_>

Convincing newbies isn't enough, Tanks. There are three new players. Convincing three people will not make me a winner for the day. If I wanted to play some kind of "perfect scene" card, I could have lied about finding a Mafia in my investigation.
"Hey, let's prove I'm right by lynching this suspicious guy--probably Market--who is of no immediate consequence to lose! That way you won't feel bad about voting for the other detective and it proves who's lying!"

Except I can't do that. I don't have a Mafia result. I have a villager Lander, and a villager Animal. I could have tried to pull a name out my ass and hope for the best, but that's a backfire just waiting to happen. So all I have is the single hardest option to pull off: Penguin.

That's pretty much all I can say about it.
The only reason I can remotely think of for this, at all, is a preemptive strike after something like a Role Cop on their side investigated me. If they have one, Penguin sacrificing himself at least makes a little more sense--Detective dies, then Penguin dies (to probably avoid being ousted by the many people familiar with his playstyle). That's the one guess I can make to explain this.

And yes, I know how stupid it sounds to make a guess based on a role only used previously in Mafia 2of4 games. All I can do is guess, though, if I want to see Penguin not take me out first. :\
