This started at 7 days I think (oh durr I just got that, of COURSE it started at 7 days). They've been doing a different version of the music every day; today's is another rendition of Calling I guess?

ANYWAY.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!

I wonder if it'll be the same characters. They really grew on me, every one of them. But I don't know how much more they could add to the original game's story, so I'd be fine with a new set of characters, like in the Final Fantasy series.

Oh man Jan, you just got zinged by Riptide. How much does THAT suck?

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

Watch it be a remake for the 3DS with a new revamped soundtrack. Or better yet. Watch it never get released in the states.

IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. IT JUST IS.

I would still buy it.

Apparently some information has been leaked. According to Siliconera:

It's an iOS port, with a remix soundtrack.

Suddenly buying that iPhone wasn't such a bad idea.

Alternatively, I don't approve of this being a single screen game.

EDIT: http://www.siliconera.com/2012/08/24/th ... -ios-port/

They'd probably give the right half to Neku, and the left half to Shibeatshua.

Site is up now.

I had actually heard that it was most likely going to be a remake for the iOS when I heard the initial announcement, but it just seemed really odd. Lots of games have been ported to the iPhone/iPad--Phoenix Wright and Ghost Trick just to name a couple. Making a whole new site for the announcement seems rare.

I like the smoother graphics for the iOS version. That was probably my biggest complaint with TWEWY - the graphics are really jaggy and pixelated, compared to some other DS games.

Compare Neku and the bear thing to the DS versions:

TWEWY has always been a notoriously underrated game, and putting it on iOS will make the game more accessible to a larger crowd. So this is definitely a good thing, and in fact I'll probably replay it on iOS if/when I get an iPhone. But I was really, really hoping for a new game.

Definitely a revamped combat system enough to make it a new experience for anyone who started up on the DS version...

Looks good, at least.

I got a new iPhone 4S recently, so I'll probably give it a try, actually. The price is quite a bit high for an iPhone app (even though it's a DS game) but I have a lot of money in my iTunes account doing nothing anyway...

There may be hope yet. The stuff below is from the end of the iOS version, after getting 100% on the game. I think it's more of a teaser image, rather than an actual spoiler. Still, I'll put it in spoiler tags.

Definitely don't open it if you haven't even played and finished TWEWY. :P

Holy crap, is that Shiki? Look closely, she's holding Mr. Mew! "New 7 Days" ...Fuzzy Bunny, I'm getting excited again.

Remember, this is all we saw of Shiki's true form in the DS version:

Image

So if that's her, then she looks quite a bit different now. No glasses, longer hair, and she isn't dressed like a geriatric hermit anymore. Maybe she took the form of another friend?

I'm cautiously hopeful.
