Watched it last night. It's awesome, it's the K-ON! we all know and love. :awesome: I might watch it a second time soon.

I hope they make more movies, because adapting the rest of the manga wouldn't be very easy. The manga went in a pretty strange direction after Volume 4 (splitting into two different series; highschool with Azusa/Ui/Jun, and university with Yui/Ritsu/Mio/Mugi). Azusa is azusawesome, but Ui is a one-dimensional character, and no one gives a Fuzzy Bunny about Jun.

The movie was wildly successful in Japan, so maybe this is the ideal direction for K-ON!.

I watched it tjhe other night, and didn't watch the end. Hoenstly, I found it dull and boring... I loved the K-On! seriers, but this didn't bring to light what I loved before.

Being a Londoner, I think this may have caused some of it, I was expecting to see London in the film, you really didn't. You saw the London Eye, and Aldgate East Station (Probably one of the worst stations to pick if they want to show the Underground :P It's so out of the way), that was about it. They (somehow), got a direct train to Camdem Town from there as well, which confused the big jesus out of me... The District Line and Hamersmith & City line do not go to Camden town.

When they did the Sushi bar thing, I really didn't understand what that had to do with anything. They were in London to see London, not a sushi bar? i felt that the concentration should of been more on the city there, rather than a 15 minute sketch in there.

The girls also spent a lot of the film air time in their room. I know that it added to the storyline, but I did wonder if more could have been done in other places. Again, the film was about their visit to another place, so why am I constantly seeing the inside of their hotel room?

The accents on the English actors were.... I think I died inside. Some of the actors were good, some weren't, and the "British" accent was so over done. I do not talk like that. No NO NO, I really don't talk like that. Lol.

Azunyan was my one shining pillar in the film, I love Azunyan, and she's still awesomesauce and always will be.

Unlike Jack above, I'll be wanting to read the Ui/Jun/Azusa Manga over the traditional characters, as I just struggled to watch them in that film...

Maybe I'm being too critical, but yeah... I didn't enjoy it.

Moose out.

I think that's very realistic, though. They really only have enough time for sight-seeing; there's no way that they'll have enough time to experience London as a Londoner would know it. They experienced London in the way that most tourists do.

What would you do if you traveled to Paris for the first time? Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Pompidou Centre, etc.

Lol I was worried about that. Their accents did sound quite exaggerated to me.

I agree, they were sightseeing, so they will see certain things. So where was St Paul Cathedral, Big Ben, Bickingham Palace, Hyde Park, houses of Parliament, etc, but to name a few. A lot of people venture to Baker Street with the thought of Holmes, although yopu won't find much at the station ;)

The girls didn't even touch the tip of the iceberg with the sights of London, so it felt like they wasted their trip to me.

As I said, I think being a Londoner sways my opinion there. When they do show London, it is really accurate, but if you're going to "show" London, show it :P

Even if they had of done the sighseeing properly though, I still think watching it would have been a struggle for me. I just couldn't enjoy it as much, preflight, during and after, it just didn't hit it off well with me. I much more enjoying the shows from this season, Accel World and SAO (yes I know, they are from the same author) are much more exciting to me.

Maybe I'm getting old... I watched K-On! When I was 23/24. I'm 25 now! Ha!

Edit; Oh god, so many typos... What I get for typing this on a aphone on the Tube :P

The movie is about Azu-nyan's relationship with the other members more than anything. It's not about London. That's just where their trip happened. Ritsu said they had to go into the sushi bar because she wanted to see how England's sushi stacked up against Japan's.

As for the English voice acting, it's common for anime to over-exaggerate foreigners. That's why they give westerners huge noses. We do the same with Asian characters in our mediums in America.

And yes, they waste a lot of their time. It's K-ON!. They wasted their club time constantly. It's only natural they waste time on their trip.
