Oooooh derp. I forgot he was brig keeper. Well, for what it's worth, we were never notified of being roleblocked. :?: It was Aragorn that carried out the kills anyway in the case of semantics.

So yeah, I wasn't keeping quiet about anything.

FYI, if I were pushed, I was going to claim that I was the stowaway. Was unsure if I was going to claim survivor type role, or nightkill-safe role.

The only 'role' that was blocked by Scar was Top, and he was told. Vanilla roles weren't told about Scar's roleblock, only Top's.

List of roles/night actions will be up later.

I was role-blocker and doctor combined, those I targeted couldn't be nightkilled, but they couldn't do anything else either.

And you are correct, I assumed a one role blocker game, I knew I hadn't targeted you so that combined with my general annoyance at that point made me vote for you.

lolol

But really, there should probably not be two roleblocking roles in one game. Also, you were pretty much a jailer.

The way I saw it, Top's roleblocking wasn't THAT useful (he didn't have many targets who needed to be blocked except for Scar and Riptide), but people he visited would be aware of a role. Scar's targets would only be informed if they had something to do at night. What this would do, in theory, was make all parties believe that there were more roles than there actually were.

Also, by changing role names (Captain, Brig-Keeper, Look-Out), it opened up the possibility of claims not being believed, or fake claims being made.

After some of the previous 'normal' games were basically role-heavy variants, I tried to be clever and flip it around, by calling it a variant, giving it a theme, and some fancy role names, but essentially it was a normal game. My aim was that the main variant bit would be that everyone would ASSUME it was a variant, and expect things to be different so play slightly wary of this. I don't know how well this was achieved, especially with the poor activity and short gametime.

Balancing games is also difficult.

Would love to hear some people tell me what they thought of the set-up as a whole, disregarding the fact that it was a 3-day game.. was this due to poor balancing, or good play by the Mutineers?

I had, in effect, this setup:

Vanilla Town
Vanilla Town
Jailkeeper
Double Voter
Watcher/Tracker (look at a person's door, if they leave, follow them, if they stay, see who enters... only every other night though - possibly could have made it every night)
Strong Swimmer - I don't know the normal name... essentially Godders would have come back aboard the morning of the day AFTER the day after he was lynched, as long as the Lookout (Riptide) was still alive to spot him swimming behind the ship.
Day One Drunk (with a night one invulnerability and muting power)
Mafia Godfather (Aragorn asked me if he was immune to night investigation... I told him no because I didn't want to reveal the fact that we didn't actually have a detective, but he was the sole person who could send in night kills)
Mafia Roleblocker (Prostitute/Wench)
Mafia Goon

Welcome to my world. I don't think I've hosted a game that didn't feature the problems listed above when making.
You didn't do bad. Drunk power player with a role potentially suicidal to claim, two Mutineers with a power play against a power player, you not in the game, and not enough actual discussion that was probably due to some lack of interest / availability.
(I had to work after my day three post. I didn't have much chance to post more than that. x.x)

So that was why I wasn't immune to negative investigations. All makes sense now.

I'll be honest, that kind of shocks me. No Crow's Nest liver. Riptide's situational watching / tracking was the closest we had to investigation, and to only have... what, one night it could be used to any effect? That was, for better or worse, a tad crippling.

I forget what the order was. I know I'm signed on for a variant, but I'm not actually done making it :X

Someone dig up the list.

This seems to be the most recent list

Monk - normal
Jaron - variant - ongoing
Scar - Normal
Dr Henry - variant?
Topnub - Variant under construction.
Godders - Normal
Kikori - Normal

I had originally intended to host in May, but wasn't ready so I delayed my turn. Since Top isn't ready currently it should be either Kikori or myself.

Add me and Market to that list. We have a variant but it needs more time.

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

Ah, but it didn't really have any story or anything. I could put that in next time around.

I know I've already hosted but I have another variant for you guys if you're ever interested. The upside is that I don't expect it to last past Day 1, so you don't really lose any time if you decide to try it out. :awesome:
