Instead of trying not to use any words containing the forbidden letter of "E", I recently remembered a challenge my father was presented during his school years. He was to write a paper of a length I am unable to remember, but could use no words with a certain amount of letters: 4.
Why was it a challenge? You may or may not see for yourself as you try to write, words composed of such numbers of letters are quite common. It's certainly not a simple thing to do, just as avoiding using one specific, common letter was the downfall of numerous "No E" participants.
Are you up to the challenge?

Rules
You may not, of course, use any words composed of exactly 4 letters. Doing so earns you a "penalty", though nobody will explicitly be kicked out of the topic for their failure.
There is a minimum amount of words to use with every participation attempt. Twenty words, minimum. Contractions count as one, no "sorta", "wtf", or other intentional sidestepping of penalties. We are going for a level of conversation, folks!
You may use numbers without spelling letter by letter. After all, 4, 5, 9, and 0 are simply too common to bother working around. And on a similar point...
Proper Nouns are excluded. How is one to specify, say, "Jack Black" or "New York City" without using a forbidden word?
Of course you shall not be penalized for highlighting forbidden words in posts.

Anyone up for it?

As per my contribution. Elaborating on the story my father had. Supposedly he completed the paper, and was the single successful student in the class. But for no clear reason, the teacher decided he was to not get a passing grade (while everyone who had failed the challenge earned a passing grade). He showed the school's principal the treatment and ended up getting the teacher in a little trouble due to the unfair treatment. Needless to say, his grade for the paper improved, too. :ura:

The actor who is in Tenacious D and the biggest metropolis in the United States of America. Works for me.

The topic in which we are currently in could be a greater challenge compared to a majority of topics throughout these forums, and should be quite enjoyable to contend in.

Nineteen words, bro. ;D
And I was being generous by counting a single letter, "D", as the nineteenth. Besides, not all of us would understand either of those references. I didn't, at least.

Jack Black is one of the underrated actors of our generation. While his projects may be aimed at sometimes immature audiences, his acting can often be considered as natural due to his childlike jokes and energy.

Anyone else notice that these posts seem to be slightly more intelligent without four letter words? Maybe they ARE evil!

I often contemplate why we are alive, how we can better ourselves and is there an actual meaning to it all, and after about 20 minutes get a headache.

I think you should count again, there are clearly twenty words there, including the D of course. If you would prefer, I can refer to it as Tenacious Dee henceforth. Please advise.

... Whoops. Somewhere in there I missed one. I'm... honestly a little shocked at my mistake. My bad, bro.
Refer to him as you please, it was a little mistake in my behalf is all. :p

challenge accepted. i think i am going to enjoy playing; as attempting to create sentences, while omitting 4 letter words, certainly requires forethought.
and i wonder if kikori is going to be informing his father of the thread he created.

It's certainly possible! He might be amused at the thought of people actively taking up the challenge of recreating the conditions of his old paper. At least it's great practice for us about how we voice ourselves! :3

I am really interested in the challenge and will try it out for myself now! So far, I am paying close attention to see if I even use any 4 letter words. If not, I guess I will have the feeling of accomplishment of not using any. At the moment, it seems possible!

As you can see there are a abundance of 4 letter words in the sentence you wrote, if you try to complete the challenge again remember to use caution and diligence.

Somehow I doubt the particular nature of a novelty as the one fabricated herein is going to present any noticeable difference in the style of my language. Although I've not exactly earned a reputation for brevity on the forums... (Curtailed use of a few "favourite" 4-letter words notwithstanding...) Frankly I'm a bit taken aback by how natural my use of words feels at the moment.

Personally I think it'd be amusing to see people attempting to exercise the challenge in the RV chatroom...

I apologize for using a few 4 letter words. It is not really an abundance of 4 letter words. Rather, there is a greater amount of words without 4 letters.

God dammit Rex, actually contribute to the conversation. Why you gotta be poppin' all up in a topic and making empty quote posts pointing out other peoples' mistakes? You afraid you might screw up if you actually press finger to key?

(I just debunked the "sounds intelligent" theory. You're welcome/I'm sorry.)

I see you are another person that's fallen to the dreaded quadruple words, but do not despair you can try again.

Dammit!!! Failed on attempt 2. Boo.
I think I shall completely blame the error on my girlfriend. As I was trying to reply, she was all nag nag nag. Girls are pains.
