 Post subject: So now that we're all creative'd out, I think.

Most of the projects we absolutely wanted to get done have been done. Who's up for changing things up and turning out map into a Survival only map with mobs included?

Personal vote is a no because I'm not done yet and there's no way to make what I'm making without Creative mode.

Actually anyone not in creative mode might die anyway.

But meh, it's your call.

I'd say that we don't enforce survival, let people choose it at will. Also, setting mobs to on would be nice.

The only real worry that creates is: do Creepers explode against people in Creative mode?
I highly highly doubt anyone here has intentions of letting creepers explode on other peoples' structures intentionally, and to not repair it if it does happen, but Creative builders are the ones with stuff not meant to be placed on the line.

If nobody knows off the top of their head, I'll try testing when home.

A creeper will only attack you/blow up on you when you're in creative if you hit it first.

This is true. Also, they have a hard time blowing up anything tougher than Wood.

Survival servers are more fun IMO. My brothers and I all formed our own server full survival mode and everything. I haven't even died yet

I think it's more fun having to work to gain your resources rather than just making 3d models. It adds that little sense or realism and accomplishment.

I can't promise I'd be majorly active on a RV survival server just cause I've got so much time invested in my for on my family server now. I'll probably work on a lava casting guide soon too like I keep putting off.

My current project is ALMOST done, but I've run into some resource roadblocks, mostly wool which I need hundreds of...

I still don't get why you all insist on an "own" server. Join a big one, make a small community there, done. You don't need fancy plugins designed just for you, you don't need creative mode, you don't need to be admin. Best of all, you don't need to pay.

I'm still going strong on MineCraftServer.com (Any donation from 5 pounds gives you fly, btw), many community events, many people that wish to help you just because. I'll be sitting there if you guys want to join in, currently building a tree (256x150x150), an arena (75x75x45 - switchable rooms) and a new server spawn (just for the heck of it, in SP).

A small group survival server means an individual can claim a plot of land and its resources. If you tried the same with a large community, you run into griefing and stuff like that fast.

Sure you can limit it by preventing modification to owned areas or locking chests and so on...
But this is all still way easier when you can trust everyone on the server.

My family server, we have our own areas and we're working on rail networks and such. Nobody really clashes territories or anything like that because there's only a few of us.
