im pretty sure that box has been there at least 8months...
i expand it often enough. it reverts back to normal each time you open a new topic though

Also I've used Chrome for a good year or so now and the box has been resizeable the entire time. I think it's been that way for a year or two honestly, because I remember it from when I used to use Firefox.

It goes a long ways back, to the distant past of Jailbreak. All this is really unrelated to the game so I'm going to put it in spoiler-tags.

Hidden: 
In the first MSPAdventure, Jailbreak, the protagonists came across a tree-stump at the end. When his partner died of his harpoon wounds, the remaining man committed suicide in front of the stump in his grief.

In the next adventure, Problem Sleuth, during his game of LIFE Ace Dick came across a similar tree stump when he was at the end of his rope.

An aura of misery surrounded the stump, suggesting due to the events of Jailbreak tree stumps will forever be associated with suicide. Ace Dick digs up the stump and discovers a gun. There is only one thing left to do.

Finally, we have Homestuck, specifically Hivebent during Hussie's interlude. Things become more and more meta, as the story eventually zooms out to the MSPA reader. This level of meta causes him to pull out a gun and contemplate suicide. He glances over to a tree stump nearby, and it is revealed he is in the Land of Stumps and Dismay.

I remember Jailbreak, missed Problem Sleuth... and completely forgot about that panel in the Homestuck series.
I need to start over and re-read sometime. I've missed too many little details. ;_;
