What do you mean I'll get my revenge? Revenge for what? :S voting for me?

And letting what slip is justification for you to get revenge on me?

Seriously, this makes no sense to me...

I don't have a neighbor. I have a neighbour. English spellings are superior to American ones.

But Monk, this is a pretty pathetic attempt at fishing by your standards.

I think he's basing it off of what I said earlier. The mafia is 1/3 of the people playing. We have 9 people. That'd leave 6 players left, or 3 pairs. The mafia wouldn't need the neighbo(u)rs to win because of their other win condition.

You and I have one similar thread of "revenge" in that Riptide is responsible for our very early deaths in the previous game. Were my hypothetical correct yesterday, we'd have had a good reason to lynch Riptide. Turns out, the premise was false, and that meant revenge became a moot point. (TL;DR? You + Me = kosher, You + Riptide = Me + Riptide = Have a reason for vengeance)
My distaste for you comes from you calling it a waste of time to investigate the "neighbors" part of the variant. If it's linked to our win conditions, it's important. Wanting to keep neighbors a secret is good and everything, which is why I had an interest check. Calling it a waste of time, however, is what earned my vote and "distaste" for you. Speaking of which, I'm not comfortable with not having a vote placed where my gut is. Dr Henry

ATTENTION NOOBS!

I may have made a bit of a blunder. I have received several questions and concerns from people via PM about the rules on the front page. I DID copypasta them, and in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have in this particular case. All I can say at this point is some of the rules on the front page MAY or MAY NOT APPLY and to REFER TO YOUR ROLE PM first and foremost.

I can answer any questions via PM to the best of my ability. I can and will answer any questions regarding the rules, but I must answer them on a case-by-case basis, for obvious reasons. I will not give anything away in this thread if I can help it.

Maybe revealing pairs should ask between themselves whether they want to reveal who their pairs are, because they could be worried about win conditions, although me personally i am not too bothered either way but my partner may be.

Right... well I don't have a 'good reason' to lynch him, it was just a day one, no one else to lynch, i'll vote for the person who killed me before i could even post. I wouldn't really classify it as revenge.

As I have said, if you want everyone to reveal who their neighbour is so much, why don't you reveal your own one first? Noone else has, so clearly people are not overly keen on it, and all your interest check has done is waste a day of people STILL not revealing their neighbours, or even replying about it, and causing a petty argument about it.

If you find it distasteful (bit of a harsh word to say you feel distaste towards me :( ), why have I been thus far correct - it HAS wasted time.

Well, I'm trying to get Lander to sort a few of my questions, so I'm going to hold off doing much until I get some hard facts out of him. I'll probably post something more substantive later today.

Jesus, what is it with you and Monk both asking the same questions of me that have already been answered?

Kikori wrote:
How many of you are up for actually properly creating a list of neighbors so we know who's "paired", at least?

My feelings against Henry's "It's a waste of time to try" stand, but without the cooperation of the majority, patterns and pairings can't be confirmed. Interest checking and rallying is not a "waste of time". Attempting to go through with something that everyone is against, however, is. One step at a time.

If nothing else, the fact that the both of you are playing dumb makes me think you're linked in some way--as neighbors, or as teammates of some kind. Add to the fact Monk made a joke-vote against you in specific to call you neighbor-less? I formally accuse you two of having a link, and thus far it's one I don't really care for.
As for my having wasted time, I concede one thing--with it officially confirmed that the rules on the front are copy-paste and very likely the win conditions on it are just as likely false compared to what is sent in PM, to admit one's neighbor would be nigh on suicidal if someone wanted to keep you from winning. And sadly, it's my belief the Mafia's first goal is to divide everyone away from their neighbors. With no pairings left, the village's win conditions are probably reduced to nil.
That does not change two things, however. One, the logic behind neighbor pairings would likely be a vital clue to figuring out who's acting out of character, as well as explain how two sets of two neighbors could still include the ninth 'odd one out' in the system. Two, your reaction was the most extreme case possible for saying "No" to my idea. No and explain yourself, You'd rather defend your partner, There's not enough benefit... anything. Instead, "It's a waste of time". That phrase is probably the strongest one that could be made to try to remove someone's logic from being taken seriously.
So, my vote on you is staying.

P.S. Feel free to call my attempts a waste of time, because again. After Lander confirmed the rules on the first post may be borked, I recognize the problems behind making a list of who has who. I hope I don't have to elaborate on why that post is able to change someone's thoughts about how to approach the game. :?:

I want to explicitly mention something that appears only to have been danced around: Game end conditions and win conditions are not the same thing this time around. Therefore the general principle of a fully-informed town generally beating a fully-informed mafia might not apply.

As for my possible link with Dr Henry, I can neither confirm nor deny any allegations.

Once again, where win vs game conditions are concerned, it's already been said. Does it make it the tenth time yet that you and Henry added up have done that? :?:

Umpteenth time, this is a variant. If your PM says "You win if your neighbor is alive" but not "You win when the mafia are eliminated", then yes. The village has to kill the mafia to hope to survive, but do so in a fashion that keeps their partners alive.

Well, Riptide already beat me to it, but yes, I can confirm that he and I are neighbors. Given how integral neighbors seem to this game so far, I'd say that compiling a list of neighbors is quite useful. As far as my conversations with Lander have gone, I'm getting a definite "that would be telling" vibe from him.

Godder, I personally took your advice; did you take it, too? Has your neighbor responded either way, and can you confirm/deny who your neighbor is?

[quote=Mr X]I'd prefer to not be the first to reveal our partnership. Unfortunately, so does everyone else. I'd really like Kik to reveal his, since he started it, and if the other three groups come out, then w can easily identify the odd one out.[/quote]

I'll let him reveal our partnership if he wants to, but i think the day was meant to finish half an hour ago.

Today is April 16th at 2:42 AM, sir. We have another day of fun ahead of us.

I personally kind of find it hard to believe that a quote from "Mr X" comes without quotation marks already within his name. After all, quoting a post comes with the BBcode already filled out--you'd just need to edit the name to Mr X.
And yes, I'm now suspicious of you for failed BBcode when it should already have been properly done. FoS: Godders. Why don't I vote, though...? Two reasons. "Odd one out" is not as scummy in my eyes, to be honest. One mafia in a game of nine people? Unlikely. So what does that mean for us?

Achtung, baby. Let's rock!
Myself and my neighbor, Scar Sorry to oust you, bro. Riptide and Tahu--confirmed by the two. Monk and Henry, which I highly doubt anyone else would contest anymore. That leaves Godders, Rex, and Market.
But wait! There's a trend with day one posts in games and it's been growing a little more as of late. People are starting to tell the truth on day one! (<-Yay for one single mistake in my wording.) One trend I've noticed is that Godders is the only player who, before this recent wave of activity, had the mind to repeatedly discuss scenarios of being alone, or being a trio. Once again. FoS as the odd one out, Godders. That leaves Market and Rex as a pair.

Now, let's review. Who out of these four pairs has acted the scummiest, least interested in gathering information, most threatened by a listing of neighbors, and sought to tiptoe around any suspicions? Gee, I wonder!
Monk Basher. Dr Henry. You two are the mafia, with little room for doubt. A simple confirmation from Godders, Rex, OR Henry will leave you two as the last available, and the most suspicious. Your fears have come to pass; we know it's you. The only reason you could hope to behave this abnormally and keep from having a Red name upon your death would be something asinine like being Lovers. Go ahead, make the bluff. I'll call it.
I guarantee you, if I'm wrong about this, there's no mistaking this game has been figured out anyway. Then plan's already in motion, and you'll find out by Day Two.

As for Day One? We have two things and two things alone to worry about.
1.) Godders has a high potential to have lied about his neighbor existing.
2.) Monk and Henry are the scummiest players and the only who are logically not connected in a pair.
It just takes two more votes on Henry to see how well this has been figured out.

TL;DR? Monk and Henry are highly likely mafia. Godders is either paired with them or a standalone player, and a secondary priority. If I'm wrong about two of three of these players, it's not hard to figure out after that who it actually is.

Your thoughts, Henry?

So apparently I made two mistakes in my English when making this tirade. I'm somewhat disappointed in myself.
