I've moved to an Orcish Greataxe of Binding now, because it has a better binding enchantment than if I enchanted it myself, and better damage than my warhammer...

And I'm an orc with full orcish armour so I feel pretty comfortable ^^

Anyone tried being an unarmed account? It was great fun in Oblivion, obviously there is no unarmed thing to level up in skyrim but it is still possible

Yeah, i tried it with my melee-only character. Punched an ancient dragon to death, but i had a shield in one hand. It's silly fun.

Unarmed is a great option when you buy the perk that allows your gloves' armor to function as damage in unarmed combat.

It might be just me, but i don't think that perk works. Maybe glitched, but i didn't see any change in damage when i had that perk. I only notice a small difference when i had the unarmed enchantment.

Huh. I haven't tested it myself, but I've done A LOT of reading on Skyrim and it seemed to work for others.

That sucks though, it seems like a great idea.

Anyone got a suggestion of a new, fun character to build/play-style to use?

I've got a two-handed weapon Orc, who smiths and enchants...
A conjuring Breton who uses one-handed weapons...
A Bosmer sneaky Archer assassin...

If you're into roleplaying the possibilities are endless. Though it seems you have the three 'classes' nailed down.

A speechcrafting Imperial is always good for some lulz. Could make a shetload of money via mercantile.

Speechcrafting? Doesn't sound massively fun or useful in combat in dungeons :/

Apart from that, disregarding classes, some kind of setup with an unused race/skill to concentrate on/weapon to use?

Just make whatever character you want and then go around the entire game, getting all the companions possible. (A few quests give you companions that will fight and some can't die, and they don't go away as long as you complete the quest. Like this one gives you a talking dog. That fights for you.)

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

Is that Meeko or a different dog? I found Meeko, he followed me, he got in the way a lot in the first place I went to and then died :/

Also, the point is I don't know what character I want...

The talking dog can be found near Falkreath, there's a quest in town that leads you right to him. However you only get to keep him as a companion until you finish his questline which is fairly short. Spoilers about how the quest ends below.
Hidden:
Don't kill him at the end of the quest, the axe you get from the Daedric lord sucks and if you choose not to kill him you get a cool looking mask that gives a bonus to speechcraft and vendor price reduction.

Also if you weren't aware Meeko actually has a backstory. In a shack near where you find him, his owner is laying dead in his bed and there's a journal next to him which describes how much he cared for Meeko and how he died.

Yeah I read that, but when he died I still didn't care, just left the dog in that dungeon :P

Is the axe a Daedric artifact?

Both items are technically artifacts but only the mask counts towards the Oblivion Walker achievement.

I need to go back and make an archer. My favorite thing to do in the game!

I quite liked my archer, and I quite liked my conjuror... So I'm tempted to go for a Bound Bow character after the update, just don't know what style to go for, necromancy or atronarch or just sneaky pickpocket who doesn't carry weapons or something else?

Oh, and when is the update out for consoles/does it affect existing accounts?

Wow, that's cool. I honestly haven't touched Skyrim since I platinum'ed it because it was still laggy as hell...will get back to it after this update.

Also, IGN states that there will be an option to marry Lydia after buying the house in Whiterun. Too bad she's already dead on my main account.

They supposedly fixed it a long time ago. :?:

Though I believe you were still having trouble even after it was patched.
