Random game crash

Alrite so I'm experiencing this issue since last year, was on Chrome previously while playing Runescape from time to time, the game randomly crashes and shows a white screen by itself and each time I gotta restart Runescape, so now 2012 I switched to Firefox still having the same issue, any fix to this?? Read up Runescape forums but it seems i'm not the only one having this issue and Jagex dosen't seems to have a fix for this yet??

Java and rendering issue. It happened to me after a Java update, playing on the crappy computer downstairs with HIGHLY outdated Java still managed the came despite being a highly inferior machine.

Under your graphics settings, you have three render modes. DirectX, OpenGL, and Software. Setting it to OpenGL fixed it for me. Software did for a while, but started to crash commonly, too. The default is DirectX, if I recall.

I've been having the same problem since updating Java. I was switching between RSClient and different browsers as well. Thanks Kikori. I'll try this out tomorrow.

I experience the same problem, quite frequently.

Guess I'll try these out, but last time I did, my computer couldn't really run on either of the other rendering modes.

Hmm.....that's weird because my default is DirectX instead.......what browser you using?

I'm using Chrome. My default IS DirectX, I must have changed it a while back.

Hmm......OpenGL should fix the problem because I tested both in Chrome and Firefox and it works well, but I suggest playing Runescape using Firefox instead as Chrome getting suckier nowadays lol....
