Hamal is the master enchanter trainer. She is located in Temple of Dibella in Markarth. You have to break in the inner sanctum and speak with her, she will start a quest that you have to do first.

Personally I thought it was a waste of money to train since any enchantment gives you the same exp. So I just added sneak on jewelry/armor and banish on weapons that I found. That added about 1k to the value which I sold to vendors across the land. 100 enchanting is pretty sweet with the two enchantments on one item perk, but you can't add a second enchantment on an item that already has one enchantment--I found that out. :(

Someone posted earlier on this thread that saving all the hide that you get and making leather and leather strips then make leather bracers is a great way to level smithing. In-fact that's how I got to level 100. You don't really make money off it, but you really don't spend any on it either.

I jumped about 20 levels smithing yesterday (now 70) by using iron ingots/ore and leather strips to make iron daggers... and improving my armours (I was using Ancient Shrouded Robes from the DB which are now Exquisite)

Not sure if I'm really fussed about Enchanting anymore...

Is the lag crippling, Lander? I want to get this game (perhaps in a few months) and I think I want to play it on the PS3 so I can get another platinum trophy (instead of my PC.)

It's pretty bad. I would say so, after some time. Bethesda is supposedly still working on a fix for it though, but there is no timeline for it. Also keep in mind it isn't happening with every model. Mine's a newer model at 250 gigs, about two years old, and I'm having the trouble.

You'd be safe until your file reached about 5 MB in size or more. Is the game still worth playing in spite of the lag? You bet. There ought to be a patch for it by the time you are ready to buy it for the PS3. Just keep up on the news, I guess.

Adds replayability, why wouldn't you want that :?:

Because I don't want to do the same (quests, etc) 7 times. :?: I'll probably do at least one more character, at least then I can choose to help the Stormcloaks as well as

So yeah, where's the dragon priest shrine again? I have 4 masks now and I'd like to store them somewhere... Apparently it's in Labrynthion but I couldn't find it. Which leads me to another question: Are there one or two shouts in Labrynthion?

Check on the ground for a wooden mask in that dome-like room right in the center of the ruin. It's outdoors. There will be a skeleton on the ground along with a note or journal or something. When you put on the wooden mask you'll be transported 'into the past' when the room was whole, where the shrine is. There are also empty chests and stuff in there so it'd be a pretty wicked place to hide loot of any kind.

In labyrinthian there are three areas. Lost valkyg, shalidor's maze, and the place for the mages guild quest. The other shout word is in shalidor's maze. Be prepared for the maze, there are runes on the walls that require spells from a certain school to be cast on them so make sure you have at least on projectile/effect other spell from each school if/when you go in.

school as in fire, frost and shock, or destruction, illusion, etc?

Illusion, destruction, etc

You ought to be. :?: If not at least for the levels, you surely don't realize the sheer epicness of equipment you can create.

Well since I'm not doing any magic stuff, getting soul gems and filling them is going out of my way quite a bit :/

Also, so long since I've done it in Oblivion... how do I recharge enchanted weapons in Skyrim? o.O

After being pretty much done with the game I spent some time finding out how much loot I had accumulated in my loot chest. Turns out it's worth around 5 000 000 to 10 000 000 gold.

It's R2 on the actual PS3. Keep in mind you need filled soul gems to recharge. Go the your inventory and hit R2 when you're on your weapon and you can choose to recharge it. Also, you don't really need to fill the gems yourself. Buy them already full or use the Mace of Molag Bal. It's a wicked weapon besides the soul trap enchantment. Another thing to get is Azura's Star, the reusable soul gem that never breaks.

Lucky. The really bad lag issue is mostly PS3 exclusive. :>_<:

I've had few problems on Ps3 personally. Only time I had bad lag is after playing it for 6+ hours, which a simple reset fixed.

*sigh*

I seem to be experiencing towards the worst side of the spectrum concerning the lag. Like it's nearly as bad as pre-patch. After about an hour or two I can hardly move anywhere because the framerate is so awful. Which is really weird, because after the first big patch it was working fine. Then after I got home from visiting the family and downloaded 1.3 it went back to nearly the same when there were no patches. o_O

Character number 2 - gone for a Breton Conjuror, any advice? (e.g. places/ways to train it quickly, best thing to go for in combat, other skills to prioritise such as whether Smithing is worthwhile at all when I'm likely to wear robes and bound weapons... and what perks are definite MUST-HAVES!)

:)

Hey guys, I'd like to share these few adjustments to y'all. Feel free to have a look.

This is a great improvement:

I really like this one, the screenshots are actually outdated, is better now:
www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=667
This is a bit silly/cheaty, but if you have 11.500 kilograms of loot in your Breezehome, you don't want to move.
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1302
This is pretty neat, has a lot of options too, listed on the page:

Conjuror? I had one of them once!

Best way I found to get experience in the actual conjuroring was to let summoned things kill for you. You get a little bit of experience everytime you summon a weapon, but when a zombie/familiar/atronach/etc kills something, it seems like you get more.

Also, get the perk to trap souls with bound items. You'll fill soul gems constantly, and you'll have enchant maxed pretty quick. The problem is all of your enchantments will go onto armor/clothing, so the fire/frost/shock perks in that school will be pretty worthless. Avoid the recharge perk too; bound weapons don't recharge.

You'll be putting a lot of perks into combat areas, by the way. If you do bound battle axe like I did, you'll basically be full barbarian who has a small magic reliance, and the problem with that is you'll have to balance your health, stamina, and magic increases. With that in mind I'd suggest bound sword so you don't have to worry quite as much about stamina; you'll have one hand free for magic or shields that way.

Update on my Skyrim goings-on:

I lied. Badly. When I said I was ready to stop playing this game, I lied.

Anyway. What I'm trying to do now is max out alchemy and get the levels to get all of the perks I need to literally make the best possible equipment in the game. I'm currently level 65 and I need two more levels to get the needed perks in alchemy. In the past two days my alchemy has gone from 37 to 74, and I'm not nearly done with my current load of ingredients.

If everyone doesn't know about the falmer helmet bug, it's as follows: You can equip a falmer helmet and a circlet at the same time. Any enchantments you have on the two will stack. The falmer are those ugly elves that live underneath dwemer ruins. I ran though rbanathnd (spelling way off) and got four of them. I had luck buying circlets from The Radiant Raiment. Enchant as you please. I'm using these to boost alchemy, as well as to power level my magic skills. Is it a bug? I can't tell. I don't care.

Here is a great guide for alchemy, listing potion combos from most valuable to least. http://keke.itarium.ch/uploads/alch_values.txt

And here is a link to a short guide on smithing and enchanting the best possible armor, though it's not rocket science: http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-best-po ... ent-guide/

If anyone's still training alchemy, giant's toes+wheat are the way to go. Also, it seems adding a river betty to that mix adds to the value as well. On the uesp wiki there is a list of places where you can find more than one giant's toe in one place, like in your houses in solitude and riften. They also have a comprehensive list of giant camps. AAALSO the map I've been using can be found here: http://www.gamebanshee.com/showshot.php ... rimmap.png

Hope some of this info helps someone! :awesome:

The best way I've found to train conjuration is to repeatedly summon dual bound swords. Every time you attack something, I believe it also adds a bit to conjuration. With the mage stone this is incredibly quick.

Yeah i've basically been doing all this :) Went for Bound Sword, with the mystic perk to strengthen it, and currently have one perk in one-handed to add 20% damage... not sure if I am going to put much into stamina though. Also have the soul trap perk on it, and have been filling up my petty soul gems and a few lessers... what sort of creatures go into Grand and Greater then?

When I get further down the line, I'll concentrane on Atronach summoning rather than undead summoning rather than wasting perks in both - my flame one has been helpful so far, but not sure if it has been getting me any more exp. than from my sword swinging and normal conjuring o.O

My only real issue at the moment is armour: should I wear any? If so, what?
I've currently been wearing novice robes/hood for the magicka boost, and have the spell 'Stoneflesh' - I've been getting my Alteration skill up too with the intention of getting the 3 mage armour perks filled out. Is this the way to go?

Scratch that. With all my gear, I got a potion worth over 4k with Giant's Toe, Creep Cluster, and Wheat. Took me straight from 74 to 75.

Also, it seems if you try to run into your house and go about your business while a dragon is attacking, you can't. It acts as if you're in combat. Good protip for leveling your magic skills.

Awww yeah. Exactly what I thought upon finding the place. Though I'm too attached to my houses in Whiterun and Solitude to bother storing anything in the shrine. 90% of my junk is in Whiterun with all my crafting related stuff and some odds and ends in Solitude. I only used the shrine to get the final mask.

Which is awesome to boot.
