Well it's because of the oil and grease. Cheese and tomatoes and peppers, etc. by themselves are obviously ok to eat, and are healthy to some extent. But by deep-frying it and baking it/whatever it makes it...not...healthy.

Deep-frying it? That's not how pizzas are made, sir

In fact most of the moisture on pizzas comes out of the vegetables

It depends entirely on how the pizza is made, really. You can have non-greasy pizza if you make it right. >:}

Well I'm not an expert but I work at a place that makes pizzas (amongst other things) and only the pizzas that have vegetables on them get wet, as the vegetables can leak quite a lot once you put the pizza in the oven

The cheese will always give off a little grease, of course, but it's not that much

My goodness.

I hardly ever ate the pizza at my school. It was nothing more than a failsafe and when I did eat it, I wasn't happy about it. I had to use several napkins to dab all the grease away, then smother it in Ranch to get it stomachable. School food is mostly disgusting anyway. But then there were kids I knew that ate nothing but pizza, some were fat, others were athletes in great shape.

But yeah. That this is even an issue getting attention is a testament to our incredibly capable government. Banning pizza from school lunch. Commies.

*shrugs*

It really depends.. way back they changed how the pizzas were being made.. and it really changed the taste/appearance.. but often it depends on your school.

In some cases, the pizzas are thrown together by hand (albeit frozen parts are used), some of the process isn't entirely out-of-package.

I've had some good school pizzas in my day. ;D

Well it all depends on how you make the pizza. I do know a guy who claimed he deep-fried a pizza (which is why I used that as an example). There's deep-fried butter and ice cream, why not pizza? This all depends on how you cook food. You just need the right guy to cook and the right ingredients. Within certain limitations, almost any food can be considered "healthy". But then...

schools are a completely different matter (well at least elementary schools are). The food they serve is so processed it's disgusting. It's inedible. It's VERY unhealthy. They don't even cook anything. It's just canned ingredients put into a metal vat and then serve it to small children. It's almost a crime. Jamie Oliver goes far beyond the normal guy to solve the these things. I can't imagine what he would do if pizzas at school were considered a "vegetable".

It's not considered a vegetable per say.. it contains vegetables. :awesome: much like fruit juices containing real fruit juices. ;D Only part of it isn't a healthy food.

<.< Though most of it, in this case. xD
