Am I being really stupid or is something strange going on here?

A website I've been working on, http://www.alba-sailing.co.uk, has some odd issues. Firstly the pound signs, speech marks and a number of other symbols show up in a very strange way. I know I could use £ and so on but it's time consuming and the 'normal' way has always worked fine for me.

The second issue, and frankly the main issue, is that some pages have some characters at the top of them, messing up the formatting entirely. For example if you click on the 'Gallery' link, you'll see what I mean.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't see any of the problems you are mentioning; what is the browser you are viewing the website with?

The problem was in firefox. I sorted it now though, so that's probably why you can't see it. My issue was with incorrect character encoding. I guess this can now be locked.
