Been using firefox for years now, and all of a sudden its started to constantly crash. It can sometimes happen 4-5 times an hour.

I've tried a few virus scans with AVG and nothing was found. Tried deleting my history, cookies and stored web pages and nothing has changed.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Runevillage the forum is pretty well much done. Runevillage the group will eventually die, but as long as we're still friends with each other in the end, it's still a pretty big thought in our heads. Runevillage the family is forever, no matter where we settle down. If absolutely nothing else ever comes of Runevillage in the future, that alone is a pretty damn awesome thought.

Sometimes problems are found when opening Google Images, because of the browser not being able to handle it, but using Bing seemed to fix it for my friend.

May i refer you to Google Chrome.

is there a chance that there is an update for FF that you dont have yet? this could potentially fix your issue.

(assuming FF stays running long enough for you to get the update)

I've started to experience a lot of crashing myself on certain sites which never used to happen before. Unless it's a completely random thing, I wonder if the problem doesn't lie in your computer, but rather in that as the internet's growing, Chrome seems to be the standard people are designing for. (All my sites work fine in Chrome.) But yeah, if you mean within the last few weeks, I'm right there with you.

Goddamn have I had a lot of problems with the new FireFox. I probably crash twice a day, and the only reason it doesn't annoy me more is because the save-your-tabs feature works as well as it does.

I recently reformatted my computer, and therefore installed the latest version of Firefox. The crashing has pretty much stopped. I don't know whether it was due to the Firefox version, or something else with my computer. Either way, problem solved :).
