Sponge baths are outdated. Washcloth + no rinse soap = winning. And I have PCA's to do that, I normally just hold the patient over and they do what I did for 2.5 years. I did my time......it's time for someone else to do it.

Seriously though, off topic...I've often wondered where all the hot girls go after high school/college graduation. I swear every time I enter a hospital it's full of sexy nurse girls fresh out of their sororities...

Then there's the other extreme. Big, fat, hideously ugly nurses. Or old nurses. Getting admitted to the hospital is like playing the lottery, heh.

In my experience, you are completely right. Rarely is there that "middle of the ground" nurse. Either amazingly hot, or so bad you'd rather have a male nurse.



And don't expect the population to slow down any time soon. Nothing like taking a vegetable and placing a peg tube so they can just sit there in misery and poop themselves all day. What's worse is the family never visits, so why keep them alive? Morons....thankfully our ethics committee at the hospital is stepping in more and more often with these cases. They've grown a pair and have stopped this from happening a dozen times or so lately. It's expensive to YOU (each bottle of tube feeding is like $150+, plus the machine, care, surgery, etc....all out of YOUR pockets.

A funeral is cheaper, better, and keeps the patient from suffering. Trust me, these people suffer. Yes they cannot talk but there are signs these people still feel pain. Change a dressing on an open wound and watch the heart monitor. See that change in heart rate? That's pain. I don't care if grandma doesn't grimace or moan.
