So I'm talking my girlfriend into buying me a PSP for our one year anniversary (I know, right?) and was wondering if any of you have played any really good titles for it? Following are the ones I'm currently interested in:

Both dissidia games (main reason I want a PSP)
Monster Hunter (unsure as to which one to get/start with...help?)
FF4 collection (anything final fantasy, really)
Phantom Brave (I about shat when I realized this was on PSP. I played the hell out of the game in high school on PS2)

And that's about it. I like most genres, but am not a big fan of shooters. My favorites are RPGs and action-adventure. I also love simulators, fighting, and strategy games. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I also need some suggestions for casual gamer girl-friendly games, like good, simple platformers or puzzle games.

Also, if you have already purchased games from the PSN for your PS3 that are also compatible on the PSP, can you download them on that as well? For example, I have lots of PSone classics, I have some games like Deathspank, and a few minis as well. Can these transfer without me having to pay again?

My PSP got stolen a year ago so I'm not really up to date with the latest games. As for your second question, yes, if you buy PSone classics you can download and play them to any PSP or PS3 that's linked to your PSN account.

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

Battlefront 2 was amazing, so if there's a newer game it should be decent.

If you liked Final Fantasy Tactics, the PSP remake is pretty good. Also recommended is Tactics Ogre.

This this this. The PSP remake is called War of the Lions and it's excellent. They added new cutscenes, too, which in fact is what my sig has been for 3.5 years.

Got to agree that Tactics Ogre and War of the Lions are great. Also Disgaea is a good choice. You'll be harsd pressed to find one, but two'll be about, and it's a great game.

You also have Star Ocean one and two. I haven't played one, but Second Generation is a lot of fun, and a again a remake from a old game with added cut scenes. If you played Star Ocean: The Last Hope I recommend you get one of these.

What else is there... Crisis Core? This adds so much to the FFVII story line, you have to get this, you have no choice is this.

If you played Valkyria Chronicles on PS3, I'd also recommend II. I wouldn't say it's as good, however it's much more of a challenge.

That enough to get you started? ^_^

I appreciate the advice, guys. I wouldn't have known about the remake of Tactics, I bought it and I can't put it down now, so thanks for that. The cutscenes are incredible, but christ almighty is the translation awful...and they didn't need to change the name of every single move in the game then label them as 'new', lol. But overall, very well done. I'm taking up the challenge of unlocking the Dark Knight.

Will look into tactics ogre as well, it looks decent. I ended up getting Dissidia and dissidia 12, as well as madden 12 and NFS shift. I also got monster hunter freedom 2 and monster hunter unite, so yeah, I've got plenty of stuff to do. :awesome:
