Thanks jaron

And in all honesty its about 3miles east of my dads house!
I will move back out to that beautiful part of the country as soon as I can get a mortgage and build my house
And the adjacent yellow field in the background is canola

wasp nest in my bundle of hubs.
after the weekend i had off of work, im glad we had a 2 hour drive to the job.... where all the little buggers got blown out of the back of the truck
otherwise if i just went and grabbed it, i wouldnt be such a happy camper.
also in the back ground, our GPS base station on the tripod with the case beside it.

so throughout the night, we got quite a lot of rain. this rain continued into the day.
normally i object to rain... but when i got out of the truck, alongside the road there was quite a neat little trail going on.

a bear had walked down the little gravel road only hours before our arrival. approximately 400lbs(seeing as my 175lb footprints wernt quite half as deep), and a paw print spanning 8 inches.
the picture i took shows clearly where the claws leave marks in the mud, and the shape of the print left behind. in the center of the print, some of the mud got stuck to the paw as he walked along.
Image

a couple hours later we were walking nearly a mile away, and i spied a couple other tracks off to the side of the road.
these ones, however, belonged to a mother and cub lynx. the picture below is the front, and hind paw tracks of the cub. these each measured about 2 inches long

That's awesome, it reminds me of when i went to Seattle, WA. It was the most gorgeous nature scene that i have seen in my entire life. Nature everywhere, snow everywhere.

I'd love to have access to scenery like that, but too bad i live in Los Angeles... Nothing but Smog everywhere lol

Yeah, California gets to be a boring place. Sure it's sunny most of the time (actually, it just rained -_- ) but the scenery is pretty linear and bland.
I've been to Canada three times now, and it's an amzing country. I have relatives in Surrey (I think that's how you spell it), and every now and then (well, three times) I go up there. I want to live there.

@Zone Ant - thanks bud :) and since you dont have access to scenery like that, i will be sure to put my new camera to good use!! i just got a case for it yesterday. so now i will have it with me every job i go to!
also, looks like you have recieved many logs :P

@Rayseima - if you ever end up one day living in surrey, id suggest taking up mountain biking. there are many trails that head off into the mountains. great for an afternoon or entire day of adventure!

Yeah keep them coming, in order for me to get anything as beautiful as those pics above I'd need to make my way past san Francisco and into the red wood forest, which is one of my goals before I die.

Oh and I somehow missed the pics of the claws, OMG those are awesome lol I love it. Like I said keep them coming!

-ps sorry of my posts have any typos, I'm replying off of my iPhone. ;-)

hahaha

a couple weeks ago, i had taken these pictures of a 'sign'....
this advertisement is of a guy advertising his welding business. he has taken old scrap parts(i see old pipes, springs, propane tank, gears, chains, fire emergency sprinklers, drill bit....), welded them together, and painted it.
he welded it together into the shape of a man with a jetpack holding a sign.

below, I FOUND A STARGATE!!!!!
naw, but really, this is a stress relief section of a pipe i came across. this far north at night in the winter, it gets to be as cold as -65degrees C. and in the summer it can be +45 out. so, this piece will expand and contract in the temperatures. preventing the pipe from contracting far enough to pull the thing apart.

I was coming home from a day of work, and had to drop my helper off at his house along the way. As we crested a hill, we were surprised to see how close this storm was!
looks like winter is coming!

this one below is a second photo of the same thing, just much brighter.
