Hi guys, so I was running through the old Gen Pics topics and I stumbled across the Paint Wars 6 topic.

It got me thinking, would anyone here be interested in participating actively if I were to start a Paint Wars 7?

The last one was killed by inactivity, so everyone who wants to play would need to promise to be active in the game and make comics. To make it more exciting perhaps we can allow the fighting of other characters earlier in the topic. Regardless, would anyone be interested? If so post here and let me know because I would like to start this as soon as possible.

Any ideas to encourage activity are also welcome.

Map and Legend:

Just a quick explanation of the areas on the map.

Impassible Mountains - Just like it says, you can in no way leave over these mountains. Once you are in the valley you are there until only one person remains alive.

Volcano Peak - The very tip of the largest mountain in the valley, it has a crater in the center that is full of Magma

Magma Cavern - This cave leads to the crater of Volcano Peak as well as branching off into several other tunnels that lead to other areas in the valley.

??? - A mysterious hole that appears to have been smashed into the ground by some incredibly strong power.

Drop Dead Ledge - Named because the drop from here is into the lake below. Can be reached through the air or by one of the tunnels in the valley.

Leviathan Lake - A large lake that fills one end of the valley and butts up against the Dark Forest.

Leviathan - A large serpentine like creature that has inhabited the lake for millenia. He has magic in his veins, which is one of the things that makes him so dangerous.

Abandoned Tower - A very old tower that pre-dates any other structure in the valley. It's purpose is lost to time, and now it only stands to serve as an amazingly cool battle ground for powerful beings.

Grass Fields - The majority of the valley is a grass field, full of small wildlife and peacefully swaying knee high grass.

Dark Forest - A very old forest filled with ancient trees that have lived for ages. Some of the trees are inscribed with odd runes that are remnants of a once proud but now dead civilization.

Castle Ruins - the remains of a once proud human settlement, what caused their dissaperence is unknown. However the castle they left behind is the perfect area for combat.

Valley Entrance - The only way into and out of the Valley, once you walk through you stay inside until everyone else is dead.

Cannon Fodder - These guys are the main "enemy" of the early game. For the first few pages we will be limited to fighting these guys alone as a way to show off and establish our characters and some of their powers.


I plan to update the map as we battle, so if someone destroys part of the forest I will edit the map to show that. At the start of the game, for probably the first couple of pages I am limiting who you can fight/kill to the Cannon Fodder and the Leviathan. Keep in mind however that the Leviathan is supposed to be a harder enemy to kill so it would be a good idea to perhaps team up with someone to fight it.

The showdown between Kakazi and Lt. Boom in Paint Warz 3 ended in such a grand-scale SHOOP DA WHOOP that all previous Paint Warz were wiped from existence.

Actually it's because you nooby mods used to delete old topics while forum pruning and now the epic sagas of the original Paint Warz are forever adrift in the endless void of nothingness along with most of 2009. ;_;

Also, I'm somewhat interested. I need an excuse to draw and stuff *gets pencil, paper, and camera*

Can we freestyle, as in any theme? Or will you decide it?

Wow, I hadn't expected this much interest in it

As far as arena, last time we did an island, so this time I was thinking more of a valley surrounded on all sides by huge mountains with some sort of tower or castle or other ruins in the middle. Sound good to everyone?

Also I updated the interested list and added the links to the old topics to the first post. I will draw up a map of the arena I proposed before and get it put up sometime tomorrow so we can see if we like it.

In regards to theme I didn't have a theme in mind for our characters really, last time everyone just kind of used whatever kind of character they wanted. Obviously they have to be balanced so you aren't playing with a bunch of gods, but other than that just have fun with it. And I know someone had asked about how the comics had to be made, last game everyone used MS Paint as far as I know, it is something we can talk about though if you want to hand draw them and scan them in. I'd assume as long as they are readable we should be ok.

Concerning activity, would everyone be ok with instituting a prod system? So if you go a day or two without posting in the topic I would PM you to remind you that we exist and encourage you to make a comic.

If all goes well we can hopefully get started this week!

Because if you omit the stitchings he's actually a pretty basic design.

I'm interested in this.. however as an art student I refuse to use MS Paint... are we allowed to use anything else?

You are never too good for MS Paint.
