Stepping down

I am very sorry for doing this at a time when RV needs all the help it can get, but lately I've lost my motivation to keep on working for RV as an admin. The last thing I want to do is stick around as an unmotivated admin.

I'm also losing the interest I had for this place, and I'm becoming more aware of that every day. I'm posting less, working less, and caring less. The most recent project I've been involved in (which is still on-going) is the Stat Signatures project. I was hoping that I would regain my motivation by participating in that project, but it kind of had the opposite effect. All it did was remind me of how flawed we are, in a few different ways. Most of all, however, I'm very exhausted. A year or two ago I wouldn't have had any problem dealing with the obstacles presented in our projects, but it's not a year or two ago anymore. Naturally, real life has also had an impact on this decision.

That said, I don't want to bring down those of you who still have your interests and motivation to help RV. Most of all, I hope that you can do something about the fatal flaws that are greatly threatening the overall health of RV. There are so many things wrong with this place, it really is no wonder we're in such bad shape. However, RV is incredibly fortunate to have (and have had) a ton of amazing, hard-working people that put a daily effort into improving this place. I am very happy that I was able to work with and become friends with some of those people. Like them, I hope that I've left some sort of positive impact on RV. But I know that there are some things I could have done better, and I still have some regrets to this day.

I'll be keeping my Chat Mod rank; I've always enjoyed being a chat moderator. I'll also continue to be a member of the RVET. I don't have any plans to completely leave RV.

I had a feeling this would be coming soon. I'm honored to have worked with you in numerous aspects of this site. Enjoy your newly found, relaxed duties because you've definitely earned it.

I can't thank you enough for all you've done, and I'm just really glad you're not leaving for good.

I know just how hard you've worked for this place, and I respect you so much you have no idea. You have always been an amazing villager, an amazing admin (definitely deserving of a hiker-global on par with Jaron's :laugh:

), and above all else an amazing person.

I'm glad to see that you're stepping down for your sake, because it's a long time over-due. It's hard, I know - RuneVillage is important and, as such a figurehead of the contributions, that puts a lot of weight on your shoulders - but this is definitely the right choice if you feel like you need to step away from it all.

Well, I can't say I'm overly joyed because it's not a great thing, but I suppose it had to happen. It's a good thing that you realize when enough's enough. But for the record, you were an awesome admin :awesome:

Hey jack! Your always someone I have looked up to here at the village. Its sad to see that you find yourself unmotivated, but I'm certainly glad you will still be around the village. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better as you put more time into enjoying yourself!

Well, at least you aren't leaving us entirely. Thanks Jackstick for all the efforts you've put in here!

Maybe just taking a break is all you shall need to re-instill what you've lost.

Anyhow, hope all gets well for ya' in the end.

Happens to the best of us, buddy. After so many years, RV just isn't all that exciting anymore. Perhaps a break will renew your interest in RV, it did for me!

i hate to hear you're stepping down jack....

i can remember back when you were just a wee little spammer.. and i decided to take a chance on you and make you a mod, against all advice and with much teeth gnashing on the part of the staff....

but it worked out.. .one of my better success stories and you've been a good mod and a good admin....

so hate to hear about you stepping down, but glad to hear you're not leaving us...

That sucks, Jack. But it's surely understandable. I hope I speak for everyone when I say we really do love you regardless of all the teasing. :shifty:
