Yeah, they've also released tons of information about the characters involved. It's nice to see such a big statue of Aang :D

Greetings,

Oh god I am so happy right now. I really hope they make it longer than 12 episodes. The first series was a HUGE hit, and this will be too. I watched the original avatar like 3 times over, time to go watch it again. :D

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

First season will be 12 episodes, second will be 14 (or the other way around, I forgot)

The trailer was taken down it seems.

I stood in a line for 70 minutes to get into the panel at Comic-con but eventually ended up being about 100-200 people from the door when they filled up. :P My brother got in just ahead of me, since he arrived 15 minutes earlier. They apparently didn't have a TON of info but he might be able to recap what he knows if I ask him.

I marathoned the first 3 seasons of The Last Airbender last week. Needless to say, I'm excited for this. And the trailer was pretty cool as well.

The first series was one of the most awesome things I've ever watched. I just don't know how they're gonna re-create the same comedy and character personalities of the original. Hopefully this isn't bad. Probably won't be. Better not be.

I rank it even higher than Freakazoid!, and that's saying something. Honestly it's like the best animated show I've ever watched.

I would definitely agree. And, in case anyone was wondering, here's my favorite character:

Wasn't the original Avatar some kind of allegorical reference to the 4 main schools of martial arts? The show was neat and all, but I hope they'd be able to re-capture that same kind of magic without just re-writing the same exact story.

Korra looks an awful lot like Katara. And she's her daughter (I think, I didn't read much about it). And she bends water. And an avatar.
I think the series is going to go to explain what happened after the war. Korra will go on some adventure to look for the past of her parents (after the war). And in the process of her finding out what happens, we find out too. It could possibly be more about the original series than we think.

No, she's not descended from Katara and Aang, although I think their grandson plays a pretty big part, and other descendants of them are alive so they'll probably be featured at some point

Also she doesn't just bend water, she's mastered 3 elements already when the show starts, only having to learn air at that point

It's probable they'll show some things of what happened to the old cast, but I don't think it'll be a major plot point

According to one of the interviews with someone who works on the show, all of the previous generation is dead. I don't think Korra is related to Katara because in the trailer, you see what I think to be her grandparents/parents waving her off.

So at Comic-Con, they showed that trailer, showed a lot of concept art, then re-showed the trailer again. (with less cheering the second time!) They spoke of her partners, which are two brothers, one that's a tough looking fire bender, and his brother, the just as cool but slightly sillier earth bender. their pet is some kind of red panda ferret mix I think. They also talked about having to recreate jazz, if jazz had been created by the Chinese. But it was mostly concept art of her, the brothers, Ang's grandsons, and the grandsons of them. (I think, hard to remember) the youngest is a highly energetic kid who bites his grandfathers head a lot. making the the grandfather, (who is normally cool-headed) become agitated a lot in the show.

Aaaaaand that's all I remember. Sorry.

Aaaaaand that's all I remember. Sorry.

The youngest energetic one is named Meeko, and he couldn't bite his grandfather's head, that would be Aang

Probably his father though, Tenzin, who looks old enough to be his grandfather I suppose

I really like that the two brothers can bend different things, it's not something I've seen before in the show

Also there are new sky bison after Aang discovered a new herd, although their markings are slightly different and Korra's animal is a polar bear dog

This is pretty cool. Excited all over again. Will have to re-watch as I still love the story.
