Definitely a situation I've thought about in the past (and spent plenty of time hoping I would find myself in).

I would work - but it'd be on my terms and would be void of the stress of finding a job that has an appropriate salary.

It'd probably be similar to a part-time job, though - and it'd probably be my own business I ran. Mainly because I have plenty of hobbies to occupy myself with in the leisure time I would have.

If it happened right now I'd finish my University degree and stop my current employment. (I barely work during Semester anyway, tbh) Then I'd travel the world over ( :weird:

) which has always been a dream of mine, have some time off when I returned, then get a job as I described above.

So I guess an appropriate answer would be 'half and half'.

I would buy a small island and become El Presidente!, or fund a small revolution...

I'd get just get a regular job, maybe work a day less in the week. Although $3000 is a nice amount, for me personally it wouldn't be enough to live from.

If you just picked 5m as a random amount but the question is would you stop working if you really didn't have to, I'd still work 3 days a week. Doing nothing and just enjoy your money might be fun for a year. But after that all your friends start getting jobs and families. They'll have much less tim to hang out and having a job then will keep you busy and involved in regular day life.

Would probably do work for a charity. I would be doing a worthwhile job I enjoy, while enjoying a comfortable life with little to no stress.

Of course I'd want to keep myself active. I'd go crazy otherwise.

That being said, I probably wouldn't pick a very demanding job, unless it's something I really enjoy.

I would work.

First I would finish up my nursing degree (8 weeks left, w00t) and then go back to school to get my teacher degree and specialize in health science.

Why teach? Because it allows me to do my true passion.......coach. I would take over as head football coach and probably do assistant track and field. Unless you're a teacher, you aren't getting a head coaching position in football here (pays an extra $5.8k per year, almost 20% of their normal salary). Then I'd donate all the money back to the football/track programs.

Probably also try to become a famous shrimp breeder. I'd love to buy this 20,000 sq ft pole barn near me. 5k sq ft of shrimp breeding, 15k for my cars and custom work shop. Also would put a paint booth in and have my buddy run a business out of there, he just has to give me free paint jobs for all my cars. :lmao:

Ah, money. I myself would start a business with my friend, which we are planning on. RNG LLC. Start as a hobby shop. Start developing video games that we have ideas for. Slowly expand, till we own most of the businesses in our town. Slowly expand, until we have COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE WORLD! Mwahahahaha!

I'd use it to go to the art college I want. After that, I do the thing I like for a living and enjoy myself however I see fit. I wouldn't see it as work, but rather sort've like play. I don't need to spend a lot to keep myself happy. :^_^:

Why not work? Sure, it depends on the type of job, but if you have a nice, fixed, constant amount of cash that you can live off of for a lifetime, or multiple lifetimes.....a family, why choose something that you HAVE to work for that's dull and tedious, when you can do work for fun?
Plus, work teaches responsibility, leadership, patience, and a good bunch of other virtues you can't learn from from playing Minecraft all day. And, yeah, you would feel guilty when you're lying on your deathbed thinking: "Gosh, when I was young and not dying, I should've done *xyz*".
Plus, it gives you something to do. I hate being stressed out when I'm totally busy, but sometimes, I think it would be better to be stressed out than to not be at all. Because you learn from *xyz*. And that goes into the virtues and stuff from earlier.

Yeah, I'd work. Probably something simple with added benefits, like working at a movie theater or something where you know friends and regulars. I'm just that kind of guy.

I'd probably keep studying engineering, get a PhD, and become a professor. Enough work to keep me busy, and the additional income could go into traveling with the time I'd have off during breaks.

You know, come to think of it, I'd probably get another degree in Physics also, then I'd get a job where I could play with lasers all day. OR I'd go work for ITER. That'd be pretty awesome.
