Yeah, there's definitely the possibility of him joining the ranks of the "ascended humans" (can't think of a better term). However, when has the local shinigami ever been anything but background? He does absolutely squat. Keigo can probably do more with that sword than Afro can.
Though...how can Keigo wield a zanpakuto, anyway?

Afro is in the squads, so he should be able to do SOMETHING. I don't expect much out of him but, to graduate the academy, he must have SOME ability. At least more ability than the others running around town right now.

Keigo wielding a zanpakuto doesn't surprise me. It's already been shown that people can 'adopt' another shinigami's sword - Tousen, for example, took the zanpakuto of his dead friend. How it works exactly (whether the new owner gains the old one's powers, or if the sword takes on the form of the new owner's soul) is up for debate, although I'm inclined to believe it's the latter based on Tousen's bankai.

Although, it'd be pretty lame if Matsumoto was only paralyzed by Gin and Gin was simply trying to protect her. THAT'S IT! Gin is actually GOOD! That's why he didn't kill Rangiku!

We've said over and over that Gin is probably just chillin' and doesn't really care about helping Aizen.

It canonized Afro's shikai. That's about it. I've gotten pretty used to bleach chapters only covering 5 minute intervals. Kubo doesn't care anymore.

Awesome. I thought Gin's last page arrival was suspicious, but no one acted like it was a big deal so I shrugged it off. Nice to see Gin finally took charge like everyone's been waiting for since this entire mess began.

This kinda throws out Ichigo's importance as being the only one that hadn't been hypnotized, though. Aizen is probably fine ;_;

Probably weakened, maybe not so regenerative anymore, weaker to attacks now that he's constantly healing the poison's damage?

Or something along those lines, something so that Ichigo's attacks will actually be effective

What i think will happen, Gin>>>Weaken Aizen Aizen>>>Kills Gin Ichigo>>Epic fights with aizen>>>ichigo will begin to loose epic fight>>>ichigo with finish off the fight with one super epic move>>>bleach ends.

Well, I assume most of the time he was waiting for Aizen to mention his zanpaktou's weakness, and then there was the waiting to be alone with him probably, or just gaining extra trust

But yeah, it is pretty ridiculous

The best time would have been before Aizen left Karakura town, where the rest of the shinigami could have taken advantage of Aizen's momentary weakness. However, Gin seemed to want personal revenge, so we was waiting for them to both be alone as possible.
Well, so if stealing the orb-thing doesn't work, would destroying it make Aizen lose his power?
