EDIT: Perhaps I'm naive; there wasn't any way I was going to get the position - at least this time around. What really frustrates me about this all is that somebody much less dedicated(lazy even!) is getting promoted, and he's only in it for the money. Pathetic as this may sound, I'm pretty upset. Nobody seems to understand the kind of passion I've developed for this place.

One of my movie theatre's managers is quitting after six years of dedicated work.

Yes, I will certainly be sad to see them go...I've gotten to know them pretty well and I'll miss them a lot.

However, this also means a management position is open...And I kind of have my eye on it. I don't really have a lot going for me, aside from insane work ethic. I'm young and have no senority over other employees. Soo...Just pray for me guys. I would really love to get this position, although realistically, I probably won't.

Just be confident, and if they interview you, be honest, don't just give the same generic "I'm a team player" answer.


And good luck :D My brother was recently in a situation similar to yours, and he ended up getting his promotion.
