My reasons for leaving were due to the current state of the Village. But I have come to the realisation that it is my responsibility to change that, and to make RV what it once was.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your responses in this topic, I truly had no idea I was so appreciated. Thank you.

Today marks my 5 year anniversary of joining RuneVillage, and it is after careful consideration that I must announce my departure.

Throughout my time here I have seen a lot of change. I have seen a lot of people come and go. I have seen people rise through the ranks from Page to Site Admin. I have watched RuneVillage grow from a small congregation of 3000 members to the large community it is now, with over 60,000 registered members at one point.

My decision to leave Runevillage was a tough one to make, and there were a number of contributing factors that led to me making this decision. As you know, I stopped playing RuneScape quite a few years ago, and remained at RV because of the community it had. It is my opinion that the community which was once here has since disintegrated. I feel that there is no reason for me to stay at RV, and I find myself, more often than not, aimlessly browsing the same forums day in day out, with no real motivation anymore.

There are a number of people I wish to thank, who have made my time at RuneVillage extremely memorable, and without them, it wouldn't have been the same. These people are in no particular order, and I apologise in advance if I have left you out(you know who you are anyway)

Its been a pleasure working with you Shando. Id definitely take this opportunity to try to convince you to stay, but it seems your mind is pretty much made up. Ill I can ask is that you dont forget to stop by once in awhile, and who knows, maybe we'll drag you back in.

Though ive just joined a few days ago. i must say it is truly sad to see someone who is shining like a star in the sky to retire and become a dwarf star. Even though i havent met you or even talked to you . I still relize that one day in the future my time will come and i will be in the same position that you are in right now. Thanks for Being with RV for such a long time

I'm sorry to see you go, Shando. Even though we never really talked, I have always admired your technical knowledge and your willingness to pass it onto others. Strangly enough, I remember odd facts about you, including that you download 5GB+ a day. xD I don't know why.

you've always been an outstanding Villager, and one of our best mods. you've always made solid thoughtful posts, and been a help to so many, particularily in the techincal areas. you've never been one to crave the limelight, but your quiet, steady presence has beed a bedrock of the Village.

besides, how will we be able to follow your wrestling career if you not here??

and in 5 years of the Village, you're the only one i've come across who share's my birthday!!! (different years, of course!)

is there not something we can do to entice you to stay just a bit more?? say another 5 years? beg? bribe? grovel and sniffle??
