Name Changes [Last Updated: 7th August 2008]

This is a list of recent name changes of our users. The purpose of this topic is to keep a record of name changes so there is less confusion when someone has changed their username.

To get your name changed, PM an admin and ask for your name change.

To search for a username, press Ctrl + F and type in the name to search.

To submit your own recent name change, follow these instructions:

Please place your name change in this format:
[current rv name]: [previous rv name]
Please put a "-->" between every name to make sure it is clear and legible for me to add.
So for example: Aragorn Ix: aragorn ix --> Aragorn Ix
Please do not submit a name change if it only involves a change in capitalization or spacing.

Is it really necessary to document past ones that everyone now knows?

I figured it would make more sense to just be posting if you've had one recently, not 2 years ago or something

I've got to agree with Musc... The purpose of this thread is to help users quickly and easily identify who has recently changed their name.

Donut, you've gone by Donut Juice for quite some time, no? Most people probably don't realize that you once went by Need a Name.

Every now and again, we have a topic in Gen. Chat that essentially asks, "How many name changes have you had? List please." That is the kind of topic where you should post all of your previous names. This thread should be for only the newer name changes; the changes that people may not know about or realize.

Now, I think that Martin's name change is a useful one to record. Even though he's gone by that name for some time now, it's still useful to know because the change in names is so different. Marik's could be useful to record as well, but just the most recent one; I doubt that many people still go looking around for posts by Chrome.

What if someone who comes back after a long leave? They wont have a clue who people are on here. Maybe I should add the first previous name then and leave it at that?

If I were you I'd put the name changes in alphabetical order, it'll make it a lot easier to find the changes.

And I think that making name changes from henceforth would make more sense than an attempt to create a retrospective sticky.

That said, if it is to be retrospective:
