I just thought I'd stop by and say hi to everyone.

I haven't visited this site since 2010, and I apologize for any stupid posts I made then because I was at a weird point in my life.

But anyway, now I'm almost 21 and I just thought I'd check back in to RV, which was probably my favorite site when I was a kid. It's crazy to think that I came here when I was like 11 or 12, and some of my Runescape memories were some of the best memories I've had. My parents thought I was just wasting time playing a game but really I was pulled into the world of Runescape like nothing else was able to.

I tried other MMORPGs... I played World of Warcraft, and I'm even playing Star Wars: The Old Republic now, but nothing was the same as my experience with Runescape. I think a large portion of that experience was due to RV; I remember going to drop parties, meeting up with high leveled dudes that made my wimpy character feel awesome, etc. I had such a motivation to get to the top of the leaderboards then, and this site really motivated me to do that. I remember when I and a few other guys on this site made a bunch of "wilderness pures" that would just sit in the wilderness and never leave it, leveling up by killing rats and gaining gear by finding it, making it in some dangerous dungeon's anvil, or stealing it off a guy we all killed. To date that is probably one of my favorite gaming experiences I ever had; it was social and it was intense.

RV gave me friendship in a time when I was just a really awkward kid. I've still got a ways to go, but RV's community was one that really affected my upbringing and I'm really grateful for that.

When I decided to check back in this site I noticed something I'm sure everyone is aware about on the google search results and did a lot of reading. I'm sure everyone knows exactly what I'm talking about and I won't mention it. It just saddens me greatly to see what a certain person did, and shows you that I guess you don't really know someone online. But what it also showed me is how tight this community is, that it's still up and running even after those events.

So, I just wanted to check in and say hi and write this long rant. I'm sure none of you remember me but I remember most of you (in a not creepy way!) and I'll always remember RV as a really cool community for what used to be my favorite video game.

Yeah, a lot has happened here lately... But we're still here and kickin it

I stopped playing RS a long time ago, around the time when it became 3D. I don't think I'll ever play it again. Last I heard they removed the Wilderness and trading, and that was half the fun.

I might come around RV more, if I have the time. College and other stuff (school, work, girlfriend, etc) keep me pretty busy, but I enjoy it

They brought back the wilderness and free trade.
