The Cursed Child is actually a play being turned into a book, to be published by Scholastic. It's not written by J. K. Rowling but there was collaboration.

Here's the official summary:
Quote:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places

Not sure how I feel about it.

Well, with that and the Japanese school whose name translates to 'Magic place', I can't help but feel that it's kinda sellout-ish?

Like she's not been able to get anywhere after the HP series ended, and is now trying to return to that...

I don't know though...

I'm afraid it will turn out fairly childish...

Yeah.

The non-spoiler version:
Recycled storyline. Character's characters were changed. Ridiculous plot "twists". Boring new characters.

The plus:
It was shorter than the original books.

That doesn't sound promising. Not sure if they would make a movie out of this.
