Eyy RV! So recently I've been getting into electro music a fair bit... It's always been a favourite genre of mine, but now I'm actually starting to make my own beats and DJ at parties.

Either way, if you are a fan of electro house music, give my recent mix a listen and let me know what you think! This mix was done live, so it's not perfect... Some of the transitions are a little rough. But I will only get better from here!

Listen to/download my mix HERE:

ALSO - If you like my mix, please become a fan on Facebook! I know it sounds lame, but the people who book me for parties look at numbers like these. So every like helps! :D

Pretty good mix. Obviously it has it's flaws, but I've found myself listening to it a few times.

well heres some feedback that will hopefully help. you kill the energy between a lot of transitions, electro is too fast paced to have these long breaks of time between drops. I feel like your basically just mixing from the outro of one song to the intro of another song, and you should be mixing in a new track about halfway through the previous one. Once your song "peaks" so to say, this is when you start bringing in your next song

This brings me to the next thing: You let the same track run for wayyyyyy too long. You should be droppin new tracks every 2 minutes. electro can tend to get boring, so you need to change it up more than you might have to with other genres

Also, PLEASE lay off the flanger and tk filters. these should be used sparingly, everyone knows what they are and using them all the time makes you look like an amateur

A few transitions are decent, but some are a little dirty. Sometimes even when you beatmach perfectly two songs are just not going to work together no matter what. Use your headphones!! then you can just load up a new song and avoid everyone hearing your near-trainwreck

I know this may come off as harsh, but I feel like no one else is going to tell you these things to your face, and no one else on this website knows how to spin. hopefully from what ive posted youll have a better sense of direction regarding where to practice and improve

keep working on your skills and youll get there, clearly you dropped some big bucks on those cdj1000s, traktor and whatever mixer that is (djm2000?) so I imagine youll be spending some quality time practicing :)

Hostile, I -really- appreciate that post. It doesn't seem harsh to me at all, and it means a lot that you took the time to give me some constructive criticism. I will admit I did use the flanger a bit too much, and my next mix will use those effects quite sparingly.

And I completely agree about the transitions... I could have done a much better job and blending songs together at appropriate times as opposed to the start/end of the songs.

But regardless... thank you so much for that post! No offense taken in the least! Really appreciate it! :)

PS - My next mix will be muchhhhh better. ;)

+1 for not being versed enough to criticize it, I enjoy it. =)
