Just a topic to show what CD's you bought (or downloaded) this year (that were released this year), and what you thought of them :D

You don't have to set it up the way I am about to, but It's early and I'm not tired, so I have a lot of free time on my hands :P

Image
Album : Ultimate Victory
Artist : Chamillionaire
My Top 3 Songs : "Hip Hop Police" "Won't Let You Down" "You Must Be Crazy"
Least Favourite : "Rock Star" (it features Lil Wayne, it was to be expected) & "Ultimate Vacation"
MY Rating : 8.5/10 (My favourite CD this year)

I recommend "Won't Let You Down" for people who don't like rap that much, it's just too catchy too NOT like.

Image
Album : Unbreakable
Artist : Backstreet Boys
Top 3 Songs : "Any Other Way "Treat Me Right" "Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon"
Least Favourite : "Trouble Is (Sounds too much like a country song)
Rating : 8/10

Yeeep, a Backstreet Boy CD :P
I grew up listening to these guys, so I had to buy it. I was surprised how good it was, but knowing how people are so "anti-mainstream" these days, they won't give it a chance :P

Image
Album : Minutes To Midnight
Artist : Linkin Park
Top 3 Songs : "What I've Done" "No More Sorrow" "Leave Out All The Rest"
Least Favourite : In Between
Rating : 8/10

As many noted, it doesn't seem like Linkin Park anymore, but after I gave it a few listens, I really liked it. Except "In Between", that has to be the worst Linkin Park song thus far. And for those who do not know, there's a B-Side track called "No Roads Left", Shinoda sings that one, its a hell of a lot better than "In Between", check it out.

Image
Album : Curtis
Artist : 50 Cent
Top 3 Songs : "Ayo Technology" "I Get Money" "Man Down"
Least Favourite : "Amusement Park" (Think "Candy Shop", but.....10 times worst)
Rating : 7.5/10

Not much else to say here, but I liked this CD a lot more than Kanye's. I prefer to just bump something with nice beats and a nice flow and lyrics (not so much lyrics with 50 though..) and Kanye had too much thought in his CD :P

Image
Album : The Definition of X: Pick of the Litter (Greatest Hits CD)
Artist : DMX
Top 3 Songs : "X Gonna Give It To Ya" "Party Up" "Stop Being Greedy"
Least Favourite : How It's Going Down (It's not bad, I just usually skip that one)
Rating : 8/10

It had to be good, its most of DMX's greatest songs. I can't remember why, but "Get it on the Floor" was left off the CD, which was another great song. But oh well, DMX is underrated these days.

Image
Album : Timbaland Presents: Shock Value
Artist : Timbaland
Top 3 Songs : "Apologize" "One & Only" "The Way I Are"
Least Favourite : "Bombay"
Rating : 7/10

Needed more JT.

Image
Album : Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces
Artist : Seether
Top 3 Songs : "Fake It" "FMLYHM" "6 Gun Quota"
Least Favourite : "Waste"
Rating : 6/10

I mainly bought it just for "Fake It" :D

Image
Album : Buck The World
Artist : Young Buck
Top 3 Songs : "Slow Your Roll" "Lose My Mind" "Push 'Em Back"
Least Favourite : "Puff Puff Pass"
Rating : 6/10

G-G-G-G-G Unit. haha. It's a solid CD though, I wish the track with chester bennington had more of his vocals, but he just repeats the same line over and over again.

Image
Album : Red Gone Wild
Artist : Redman
Top 3 Songs : "Put It Down"..thats it
Least Favourite : The Rest :P
Rating : 3/10

I can't remember why i bought this CD now that I think about it. But "Put It Down" is awesome :)

Theres about 5-8 more CD's I could mention, but those would be the ones i downloaded.
(Maroon 5, Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco etc etc) I also have listened to most of them enough to do a good "review".

So, let's see other peoples "lists" :D

Hmm. Several CDs. Like Alex said, you guys that are going to post below me, you don't have to do it like he did or I did, but I was pretty bored too.

Image
Icky Thump by The White Stripes
Rating: 7/10
Review: I really haven't gotten around to listening to every song on the album. The title track (Icky Thump) is awesome, though, and so is Little Cream Soda.

Image
Cruel Melody by Black Light Burns
Rating: 10/10
Review: Sounds a LOT like Nine Inch Nails, a band I happen to love. I only liked a couple of songs on here at first, but then I got around to listening to the whole thing, and I realized every song on it has good things about it.
Top Songs: They're all good. I'd recommend Stop A Bullet, Animal, and Lie.

Image
Elect The Dead by Serj Tankian
Rating: 9/10
Review: The first album from the solo career of the singer of System of a Down. Awesome CD. I'd give it a 10/10 but I haven't enjoyed it all the way, yet. There are no memorable guitar solos or good guitar work here, since it was all done by Serj separately (whose main strength is singing), but there are some pretty damn awesome songs here - plus some of the most creative lyrics I've ever heard.
Top Songs: Empty Walls, Feed Us, Saving Us, Money

Image
Year Zero by Nine Inch Nails
Rating: 10/10
Review: I'm biased. I love NIN. But this album really is great. It's a concept album - all the songs are based around one idea. In this case, the songs are about a future America with a corrupt government. Most of the songs start off as different points of view - a soldier regretting what he's done, a man going mad, a church priest, etc. The whole album is like a movie but with sound only, it's that good. Then the story goes to other things: a giant godlike hand reaching down from above and saying that it'll wipe the earth clean if humanity doesn't fix itself; the leader being brought down by a man named 'The Great Destroyer', and then the last two songs are pretty much about the end of the world, thanks to the big god-hand.
Top Songs: The Good Soldier, Meet Your Master, The Great Destroyer, In This Twilight

Image
We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank by Modest Mouse
Rating: 2/10
Review: A friend recommended this to me. Blehhhh. I really hate it. This gets a 2 instead of a 0 because the song Dashboard is actually pretty catchy in its own way but gets old really fast.
Top Songs: Dashboard...and that's not really saying much.

Album : Ultimate Victory
Artist : Chamillionaire
Top 3 Songs : Hip Hop Police, Welcome To The South, Industry Groupie
Least Favourite : Rocky Road
Rating : 8/10. I always liked Chamillionaire, this album is better than his last one.

Album : Timbaland Presents Shock Value
Artist : Timbaland
Top 3 Songs : One and Only, Throw It On Me, The Way I Are
Least Favourite : 2 Man Show
Rating : 9/10. This CD is just awesome. I love the beats, the lyrics, and the everything. Timbaland really has outdone himself, and it includes various artists. Awesome CD.

Album : Graduation
Artist : Kanye West
Top 3 Songs : Champion, Good Life, Big Brother
Least Favourite : Drunk and Hot Girls
Rating : 8/10. I prefer some of the old Kanye West over the newer one. However there are various solid tracks in this CD, and I'm one of those that find it better than 50's. Kanye has always been one of my fav artists.

I bought like 6 other CDs but won't bother posting them =P. The rest of the songs I have, I downloaded.

I didn't like Minutes to Midnight because Linkin Park lost the only thing that made them slightly unique - the mix between rock and rap. Now they're just jumping on the bandwagon of soft-voiced rock bands that get one hit song on the iTunes Top 10 list, that's played endlessly on radio stations, and then are forgotten forever.

Epic typo fail on my part...haha I'm a nub. Yes, by Dream Theater, I got ahead of myself. And you're insanely lucky, how'd you manage that?

Album : Eardrum
Artist : Talib Kweli
Top 3 Songs : "NY Weather Report", "Give Em Hell", and "Hot Thing"
Least Favourite : "Space Fruit (Interlude)"
Rating : 10/10

Amazing album, by far my favorite CD this year. Kweli did a really great job in this album by showing his versatility with several different tracks and by working with several different artists and producers (UGK, Justin Timerblake, Kanye West, Norah Jones and will.i.am). Pick it up if you want to listen to "real" hip-hop.

Album : Finding Forever
Artist : Common
Top 3 Songs : "Break My Heart", "Drivin' Me Wild", and "So Far to Go"
Least Favourite : "Start the Show"
Rating : 7/10

Bit disappointed in this album, maybe because I expected so much from Common after Be (Be should have been his chart topper). The beats are great, but the album just got a bit repetitive.

Album : Graduation
Artist : Kanye West
Top 3 Songs : "Bittersweet", "Good Life", tie between "Stronger" and "Everything I Am"
Least Favourite : "Can't Tell Me Nothing"
Rating : 7/10

West at his best...All I can say is his voice in some of the tracks sounds like he's really bored.

Album: Soulja boy tell em
Artist: Soulja boy
Top 3 Songs: Crank dat, crank dat, crank dat!!!!111
Least Favourite: nun cuz soulja boy OWNZ
Rating : 1/10

Sorry...Just had to. It's hilarious what sells these days. Gave it a 1 because i've cranked it before  .

Album: All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
Artist: Explosions in the Sky
Top 3 Songs: See thoughts
Least Favourite: See thoughts
Rating: 8/10

I like to think of this album as a journey, not a bunch of songs and I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion on this CD.

(cd's were either bought or downloaded)

:shifty:
Thats all for now.
