I could make like four huge paragraphs on how awesome this movie is in epic detail, but I don't have the time, so this'll be short.
I swear, this movie was AMAZING, if anyone is reading this right now and hasn't seen this movie, you DEFINITELY need to see it. The plot was great (kinda reminded me of Dances With Wolves), the characters were well developed, and the graphics were, of course, EXTRAAWESOMEAMAZINGINGING. With a movie with a $300 million budget, you'd definitely expect to get that kind of quality. I'd see it, like, a lot more times if I weren't studying for finals this week ( D: ), but after that I'm gonna see it, like, more than Jackstick (which is more than three).

Oh and by the way if any of you hadn't heard yet...

I'm not sure what this was about, but I'm guessing you bought a so called R5 dvd

Wikipedia wrote:
The name R5 refers to DVD Region 5, which includes the former Soviet Union, the Indian subcontinent, and much of Africa. In an effort to compete with movie piracy in these areas, the movie industry chose to create a new format for DVD releases that could be produced more quickly and less expensively than traditional DVD releases. R5 releases differ from normal releases in that they often lack both the image post-processing and special features that are common on DVD releases. This allows the film to be released for sale at the same time that DVD screeners are released. Since these screeners are the chief source of high-quality pre-DVD release pirated movies (in comparison to cam or telesync, mostly), this allows the movie studios to beat the pirates to market.

Which is actually very legal

Huh. I didn't know that a Sci Fi movie has never taken the top prize at the Academy Awards. That would be pretty nifty if Avatar changed that. :^_^:

I finally saw Avatar tonight. Everyone I know who saw it said it was absolutely amazing and they were right. I haven't been this impressed with a film in a long time.
It was nearly $10.00 a ticket for a matinee but worth every penny.

Sweet, they do exist in Afghanistan? Awesome. No one could give me an actual answer.

Saw it twice, really good. Pretty, but that's about it. Worked for me though.

Well, Avatar is, yes, the highest grossing movie of all time. But when you adjust it for inflation and whatnot it's like #26 or something on highest grossing movie of all time. Gone With the Wind is first, I believe. :P

I saw Avatar a third time today. :awesome: It was just as awesome as the first two times.

I dunno if I'll see if a fourth time in theatres, but I'm definitely buying it on Blu-ray.

I recommend seeing it in 3D the second time. The movie does seem so much better because of the extra layer of depth that the 3D adds to it.

I don't know about you guys, but I watched Avatar in 3D probably a month ago... and LOVED IT. I think it is a movie that is capable of impressing people in a wide range of perspectives.

Watched it in 2D. Wasn't too impressed. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if it wasn't for the 3D (that is apparently really well done) then no one would have cared about Avatar in the slightest.

Not much of a limb since that's the main reason people praised it. ^_^

I saw it in 2D and it was still very good. Im gonna go out on a limb and say the 3D had little to do with its success. The CGI was completely impressive and unprecedented even in 1 less dimension.

Maybe I just wasn't amused because I had already seen Pocahontas.
