I'd listened to a few of their singles for a few years, and just recently started giving their first two albums a real spin. Anyone have any thoughts on these guys? I didn't know they were a "virtual band" for the longest time either: I legitimately thought it was four guys who just liked using computer-animated versions of themselves. Pretty cool concept, in my opinion.

I like the songs:
-Feel Good Inc.
-Dirty Harry
-On Melancholy Hill
-Stylo

I think they are some of their best.

Yeah Feel Good Inc. was the first song I heard by them; I think it came out on one of the NOW! music compilations and that's how I got into it.

"Kids with Guns," "Last Living Souls," and "El Manana" on the Demon Days album are also pretty good, especially that second one. Can't get the tune out of my head.

Haha. I called Tanks "Kids with Guns" for a while....nobody ever got what I was saying. Great song. Great band. I stopped listening to the radio years ago, and Gorillaz said they were breaking up a while ago, so I stopped listening to them for a while, but I'm back into 'em now.

Fun Fact:
I'm selling Demon Days on vinyl on ebay right now.....they are apparently pretty rare and selling for >$80. I bought it when it was first released for like....$14. :P

They put on an amazing live performance.

Check out their "Demon Days Live" where they perform the whole Demon Days album. Awesome.

The spoken word part of Fire Coming out of a Monkey's Head is done by Dennis Hopper. Hypnotic song.

Love 'em.

Although I wasn't too impressed with Plastic Beach. It wasn't bad, it was just kinda "meh" except for 2 or 3 songs.
Same with The Fall, but considering it was made on a iPad I was still pretty impressed.

Their first two are still the best in my book, I listen to November Has Come pretty much daily.

i enjoy most of their music, but my subconscious has heard every single Gorillaz song over 50 times. my college room mate had SUCH a love for them. Gorillaz ring tones, Gorillaz alarm clocks, Gorillaz playing 24/7 on the stereo in his room... if it made noise, it was spewing Gorillaz.

sadly, i dont listen to them much anymore.
