Just checking to see if anyone has been following this year's NHL playoffs.

We're looking at San Jose VS Vancouver in the WCF and Tampa Bay VS Boston in the ECF.

Hoping to see San Jose and Tampa Advance and Tampa eventually winning the cup :D

I want San Jose & Boston. With San Jose winning.

But that Tampa first period last night :< I see them taking that series.

As I typed that, Vancouver scored tying this first game up.

Booooo.

Sharks seem like they're done and it does seem likely that Van will take the cup... :(

Canucks take game one.

Still kinda hard to believe they're only 3 wins away form capturing their first cup.

GOOOOO BOSTONN

Games 3 and 4 were amazing! Seeing Boston shooting a combined 12 goals in the two games was a good feeling, haha.

Boston's gotta win two in a row now, hoping they they get the job done.

BOSTON IN 7!

Alright, so I'm just gonna necro this thing..

Season was over, Boston beat Vancouver in game 7. Very satisfying stuff.

But the new season is just around the corner, any preds for next season?

East should be pretty packed and tight right to the finish line. Washington is probably the only team I can say for sure that will earn a playoff birth, probably capturing another Eastern Conference title.

Washington
Pittsburgh
Buffalo
Boston
Montreal
Tampa Bay
NY Rangers
New Jersey
-------------
Philly
Carolina
Toronto
Atlanta
Florida
NY Islanders
Ottawa

Honestly, very difficult group to predict. Washington seems to be the team that's gonna earn a birth for sure. Other teams have too much uncertainty with regards to their lineup.

Penguins --> If Crosby and Malkin return to full form, they'll make the playoffs, probably 2nd place but they'll contend for first.

Buffalo --> Addition of Leino could end up being a disaster. I think they want to him to play Center, but he was a winger with Philly last season. That and he was playing on a decent line with Carter and some other person... Erhoff is largely untested as well, but he should be good enough to play top 4 defense... Roy and Vanek need to stay healthy, too.

Boston --> Champs will probably contend again. Their roster is largely unchanged, but their defense-first orientated team is built for the playoffs more than the season. I still see them finishing top 4 in the conference

Montreal --> If Price can play, he'll carry the Canadians to a birth.

Tampa Bay --> A team with Vinny, MSL and Stamkos are gonna destroy up front. Dont know how their defense is like, but Roloson is gonna need to play like he did in the playoffs if they're gonna have any chances on getting in again, i think.

NY Rangers --> Picked up Richards, which is a good upgrade at center. See them sneaking into one of the last playoff spots. Lunq needs to play well all season long.

New Jersey --> Brodeur isn't what he used to be, but i think they signed Praise and Kovu should be playing well now that he's in the second year of his contract. Still looking to see Elias contribute.

All other teams --> Some'll be right in it until the last 2 or 3 games. Leafs will make it if Riemer can play the way he played last year and Connolly can stay healthy and not be a flop. Kessel needs to score consistently.

Islanders and Florida are probably the only two teams that aren't going to make the post season. You could argue Florida can make a run for 7th or 8th place, but all the players they signed this summer are 2nd/3rd line players being asked top lay 1st line/2nd line. Some of them were signed to long term contracts too, so Florida can't even deal them away come the trade deadline. Islanders are bad, nothing more to say here.

I dont really know enough the Western Conference to predict anything. I see Vancouver back in the mix, SJ should finish top 3 and Detroit will probably finish top 4. Edmonton,Calgary, Colorado, Minnesota and Dallas probably wont make it again.
