The anime studio Gonzo sent a book cover illustrated by Range Murata as a complimentary gift to stockholders this month, and the included letter explained that the cover's illustration is the original character design for a new anime planned for broadcast next year.
Gonzo began hiring new anime production staff members such as animation runners (the production coordinator job seen in Animation Runner Kuromi), one "international production operations assistant" ("fluency in English required, Chinese is a plus"), in-between animators ("must have enthusiasm"), production desk managers, and designers late last month.
Gonzo told ANN during March's Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) that it was developing a potential Spring 2011 project that would take advantage of the new stereoscopic 3D televisions now entering the marketplace. The studio also showcased four character design sheets for a new project in the works at the fair, although it did not specify at the time whether these designs were from the same Spring 2011 project.

To me.... it looks like a sequel to Last Exile My predictions left to right on that picture Lavie and Claus's son like age 16ish(left), Mullin's daughter 17-18ish(right).... Alvis? Dio .... Possibly another of Claus and Lavie's .. not really sure
They're not even sure if that picture is part of it, but... They've already redone some scenes from Last Exile in 3D... And this suddenly came out at the time of the announcement.

Jizel fills the role of the navigator in the vanship's backseat. Contrasting with the reckless Fam, she is introverted. Jizel collects and stores various battleship- and military-related data, and covers for Fam in those aspects. Being the eldest daughter of the Sky Tribe's chief, Atamora, Jizel can easily handle housework such as cooking and cleaning while taking care of her brothers and sisters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Milia Il Velk Cutolettora Touran (15 years old) The Second Royal Princess of Touran. Milia loves and respects her sister, First Royal Princess Liliana, completely and constantly strives to be a support system for her.
They're decent translations to give you an idea what it's going to be like the ship is supposedly the "flagship of the Touran empire"
Then the latest character bio is Liliana but there's nothing much there.

The sketches were from last year when the "project" was started. The CGI picture is from a few days ago supposedly. It's hard to say when in 2011 it's coming but the original Last Exile got licensed almost immediately after it was released in Japan, so at least there won't be a long wait between the original release and the English version.
