How many of you watch the series? (If any) For those of you who don't, it's an American-made (nickelodeon) 'anime' that has gathered a surprising amount of fans. This past Friday the first episode (chapter) of it's third season (book), fire aired. Here is the trailer to season three (beware of spoilers):

If You're interested, you can view all of the currently released episodes by book here.

Despite it being aired on a pretty childish network, I think its great. It has an excellent plot and great action sequences when it gets to element bending. Contrary to popular belief, many believe anime aired on networks such as Nickelodeon tend to be overly childish/tend to avoid character death. However Avatar seems to avoid that completely. Characters do die off (though later in the series) and though the showing of blood/wounding is limited, it isn't enough to throw off my liking for it.

Overview:
The world is composed of the four elements, and their respective nations. For years they have all lived in peace, until the nation of fire began a war to conquer every other nation as the "superior element." The Avatar, what keeps the nations balanced (with his power), is the only one who can actually master every element. Aang, a young air bender, was the avatar, however one thing led to another and he disappeared for 100 years. The anime begins with two water tribe kids finding him encased in an ice berg. The adventure of taking the avatar to master all four elements, to ultimately end the war, begins.

It's a shame I don't have cable any more. When I did, I'd watch this
since it's basicly the first half-decent show on that channel in a decade.
(seriously when Ren and Stimpy went off nick, the place went to crap)

It's an ok show in itself and has some merit to it. Also a nice note is that
each of the elements is based on a martial arts form eg, Karate = fire

I could have also sworn at one point where he crashes into a cabbage cart
the owner says like
"My cabbages!!! you better pay for these!!"
then Ang says like "Free cabbages please?"
So maybe one of the writers is a RS fan hehe

The first 2 eps of book 3 are the best I seen so far. Can't wait until the third ep.

Yeah kitty, it's been out for two weeks now :$. Every Friday at 8:30PM EST they air a new episode on Nickelodeon. You can catch the latest episodes out probably that same night on http://www.veoh.com/

Btw East, completely agree. While the first ep was a bit dodgy (damn aang pissed me off), the second one was great XD.
